Heading back to WDW for the 1st time in 4 years with now 16yo DD. She likes the slides at the moderates (We've stayed at CBR and POFQ, as well as ASM before). The Dig Site looks very cool. We'd like to be in easy walking distance from it, as well as near a bus stop where the morning buses don't arrive already packed to the gills with passengers. Relatively easy access to the food court would be nice, but the other 2 are key considerations...But ambience matters too.

So, where would you CSR vets recommend we request staying???

Thanks!!

Hubby worked CSR for 3 years I will ask him for his suggestion as soon as he gets home from work ;)...

Anywhere in the cabana section is your best bet. Check out the map on my CSR website below

We were in Casitas 4. Very close to the bus stop and the food, more of a hike to the Dig Site.

Just talked to hubby and he suggests Cabanas 8B or 9B. He said that they are across the bridge from the Dig with a bus stop right out front. And still close enough to walk to the main building for food...Our in-laws were in 9B which was great (first building to the right of the Main Building). Hubby said that 8B is his favorite building as it has the best views :)

We stayed in the Rancho's section, which was close to the Dig Site. We had waterview, which was overlooking the quiet pool. I would have preferred a room that wasn't in the line of traffic.

It was a fair walk to the Pepper Market, but not bad.

We would pick up the bus at Stop #4, but most times coming back, we would get off at #1 and walk back.

Cabanas 9B was perfect... Across the bridge from the pool, next to the food and buses. The Dig Site is awesome! :earboy2:

We stayed in Ranchos 7B. It was a happy medium for everything. We were close to the dig site and just a short walk to the main building. The bus stop was right outside our building. The grounds are beautiful, so no matter where you end up, you'll have a pleasant walk to wherever you need to go.

We were in Cabanas 8b in April, Ranchos 6b in November. Liked the Cabana room better because it had a great view, with hammocks almost outside our door & the quiet pool nearby. We enjoyed the Ranchos, too--very close to the pool area. We didn't use the main building much because we really like the food served at the pool area (great nachos, chicken tenders, hot dogs, chicken sandwich & Fiesta Margaritas!), although the food window closes around 5:00. Cabana 9b looks like the best choice to be close to the main area & a fairly short walk to the Dig Site. Have a great trip!

There are 4 bus stops. Bus Stop #2 is actually the one that picks up first, so if you're at that bus stop you always get an empty bus. This stop is near Casita's 4. When we were there, a couple times the bus was full by the time it got to the last pick-up, which is actually Bus Stop #1 (confused by now??) What I'm saying is, I would look at Buzz2001's map and try to get near Bus Stop # 2 or 3 or 4. Hope I haven't confused you more! The map will make sense of everything people are telling you.

Are there "preferred" buildings in the CSR? - If so which building is the closest that is not preferred. - I don't want to pay the extra bucks!!!

At CSR you have waterview or standard. Most of the cabanas are considered waterview but I have stayed in this section under the standard room rate. Its the luck of the draw. Ranchos 6b or 7b are close to the Dig Site and bus stop 3 or 4. Casitas 4 & 5 are close to bus stop 2 with a 1/4 mile walk to the Dig Site. Casitas 1 & 3 are close to the main building.

You guys are great! Based on the map and recommendations, I suspect we'll try for Cabanas 8b or 9b. I loved the hammocks at CBR, so I will be found in those I suspect.
:thewave:
Can't wait to get back. A 4 year wait is more than long enough to re-whet the appetite! (Although since I've been to DL/CA 2x in between, I'm not in complete withdrawl. LOL)

WE stayed in Ranchos our first visit and it was super close to the dig site but farther from the el centro. Cabanas is a good bet if you want to be in close proximity to everything. Our personal favorite is Casitas-we love this sections theme, and closeness to El centro.
Best of Luck!
