This is my edited post:
I tried to use a code at the Pop for my stay 11/20-11/29 but no good. I was then given pricing for 2 other resorts. As I put in post #8 my CM didn't know what she was doing the first time I called.

Pop 3334.87

All Star 2700.00 - save $650

Coronado 3174.61 - save $150

We ended up switching to the Coronado cuz my dad needed a king bed and it wasn't guaranteed at the AS, and I was worried about the bussing crowds at AS the week of Thanksgiving.

What would you have done?

This was my original post.
Thanks for your help!

I wasn't able to get a discount on my stay in November at the Pop but I just called and was able to get a room at the CSR for $800 less than the Pop.

Should I change to CSR? I know nothing about CSR other than what I've read on here in the last hour. We stayed at the Pop and really liked it.

It seems like a no-brainer when saving that much money. Is it?
Thanks!

Michelle

Oh yeah, staying at ASM or ASP would save us $800 too! I'm just not sure about the AS's. Now I"m starting to wonder if my CM knew what she was doing? That doesn't seem right.

CSR is an awesome resort... I stayed there last Dec and it is by far my fave resort so far. The transprtation is top notch, the CS is the best value on property, they have a fitness club and it is beautiful and peaceful. I have stayed twice at POP and do not care for it at all. I admit I have been spoiled by CSR! Saving that much money and upgrading to a nicer resort? GO for it you will not be sorry!:goodvibes

We've stayed at both CSR and Pop before and both are great. I especially like CSR's Pepper Market's food selection (although I know some people don't like PM) and the fact that they have 4 bus stops. We stayed at CSR 2 years ago and at Pop last year and now we're going back to CSR this coming Nov.

So in my opinion, you can't go wrong with either one.

Helen

Save $800 and move up to a Mod? Without a doubt, Yes! You get a bigger room with a small fridge, pool with a great slide.

No question!! I would take CSR over Pop fro more $$$. But you are saving so without a doubt switch to CSR.

I've stayed in POP and thought that it was a great resort but if you are saving $800 by upgrading there's really no question :confused3 .....

.......CSR here you come :woohoo:

CSR!! Great main pool area, awesome transportation, and terrific food options. CSR also is getting queen beds!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

I called back and spoke to another CM and I was right, the other CM didn't know what she was doing.

Here's the actual amounts -

Pop - 3334.87 (no discount)

All-Star - 2700.xx with code - saving about $650 (I was told there are 15-20 rooms left with the code)

Coronado - $3174.61 with code - saving $150 (about 10 rooms left with the code)

I knew it was to good to be true! So after a brief discussion with DH, we went with Coronado. I LOVE to save money and so not taking the AS was hard, but it will be Thanksgiving week and my Step-dad needs a King bed and that wasn't guaranteed - and since we are going to be there 9 nights it is pretty important.

Your comments about CS, help me feel better! I guess I will be spending more time on the Dis reading about CS.

Oh yeah, when I asked the first CM - Imogene, about the bussing at CS, wanting to know if it shared bussing with another resort she told me that the busses stopped at all the resorts and there wasn't a specific bus for each resort. Between that and all the huffing and puffing she did while trying to get the prices, I should have known. :confused3

Since I'm apparently venting too... I then went over to the dining line to verify my ADR's and one was on the wrong day. I'm glad I called - I had been dreading it worrying that they only had 4 people instead of 6 for all my ADR's. Fortunately, they were still able to get us into 1900 at 7:10 instead of our 5:55 ADR. Of course, as I said there was no code for our stay at the Pop and Midwest cancelled our flight and I had to rebook at $150/ticket. I hope nothing else goes "wrong!"

Hey Buzz2001 - I did check out your site in that hour I had to research CSR. That certainly helped me feel better about our decision!

Do you know when the queen beds will be there?

Also, is there a certain area I should request. I have 2 boys - 6 & 12 years.

One last question, so do they have the refillable mugs for $12 like the other resorts, I only saw a gigantic one for $20.

Yes they do have the smaller mug... CSR is the only resort that does not have The Year of a Million dreams mug. They still have the old version. :goodvibes

Some of the queen beds have already started being put in--they are in the Ranchos section so far.

Your boys are going to love CSR! My boys were 6 and 11 when we went Thanksgiving 2006. They loved running around outside cause there is so much room, loved the pool, the arcade, the gift shop, and Pepper Market. They didn't complain about anything. They were able to swim 2-3 times that week as we did have a couple days that were frigid.

It's funny - so far, we 've tried to stay at POP twice and both times we've upgraded to CSR. I think it's a trend.

Queen beds will be in every room. Right now they started with the ranchos but are in the process of changing them all over.

Thanks Buzz, I saw Corondao Springs FAQ Part 1 and 2, but not 3. That was a lot of reading! I look forward to reading it!
