CSR or pay more for Poly?

I'm stressing......CSR is a lot less than Poly......but maybe I should spend the extra two grand for the Poly. We're two adults and a 6 year old. I really want to be able to hang by the pool during the peak hours (taking breaks from the park) but don't want to have to walk really far to the pool once I'm at the resort. Please give me some advice.....I'm having nightmares. Thanks.

It depends on who's in your party (and what you'd have to do to get the extra $). If you've got anyone in a stroller I think the Poly is worth it but if its all adults or adults and older kids then you've got to decide if its worth the money. I just love the Poly. Its such a relaxing place and the monorail or boat to MK and walk to Epcot monorail are so convenient.

Oh my, you need to turn those nightmares into pleasant dreams of a spectacular vacation! And by not wasting the money to upgrade to the Poly, you will be able to start planning your next one ASAP! Your 6 year-old will love CSR. The pool is great and they have an outstanding playground right next to it. My daughters have been there almost yearly and it is their favorite resort. They love the grounds, including the sand, hammocks, and the many ducks and birds. And of course, the water slide is fabulous and we ride it dozens of times. If you're planning on spending a lot of time at the pool, my advice would be to request a room in the Cabanas or Ranchos; they are all quite convenient. You can refill your mugs right at the pool and grab fast food and snacks as well. Also, great bar drinks for the adults! In my opinion the set up cannot be beat for families with children. The pool is so huge that you never feel crowded and families always seem to be having so much fun.

Last year we became hooked on AKL, but could never go to Disney without staying at CSR as well. Our daughters, now 5 and 8, actually told us they prefer CSR. So, quess we will be splitting our trips from now on! There is just something so special about this resort. Can barely wait for our trip that is less than 3 weeks away!

Now take a deep breath and repeat after me "we made the right choice, we made the right choice...."

It really all depends on your situation and the makeup of your group. For some people the extra money is not an issue (for most I am sure it is) and only you know the answer to that. but that being said the good part of it all is no matter where you go you will have a WONDERFUL time !

We are kinda in the same situation. My family and my parents are all staying at WDW this June. My parents are staying at the Poly. We all stayed there last year and we absolutley love the Poly. This year we have decided that we can do a lot more with the extra money if we just stay at CSR. We have never stayed at CSR, but we can't wait to find out how nice it is. I have heard so many great things about this resort! We have chose the Cabanas because it seems to have that island appeal we like so much. Who knows, maybe we will like CSR better?! Anyway, your at Disney, you will have fun no matter where you stay!

We have stayed at both and actually prefer the CSR. You can get rooms close to the main pool and there are small pools close some of the other building. We also prefer the food at CSR. It is the best food court at Disney (in our opinion) and the prices are reasonable for Disney prices. The mugs are well worth it too.

If you have the money, it's Poly hands down. I've been to both. It was a quik jump on the boat or Monorail when the parks got crowded to go back for a swim or rest. Then jumped back on to go back later. I cut costs for our last trip, and I am sorry I did. We opted for a moderate to save a few bucks, but really missed the Poly. We had a great stay there.
