I always stay at ASMo but thinking about an upgrade to moderate.I have been looking at CSR..it looks really nice and we may actually be there long enough to enjoy the resort.(we usually mad bomber the parks and only are at the resort long enough to sleep.)

So my friends, the question remains...do I upgrade to the Mods... and if I do is CSR the right one?
I Love the DIS and have learned so much here over the past year, so i know you guys will come through for me!!!!!

It will be me and my wife(not much of a park fan...more of a hang by the pool girl while me and the kid go crazy in the parks) and my DD11 who is a swim and hot tub fan!!!

We're going to give CSR a try in August, our last three trips have been deluxe, but since this is only a two night stay post cruise, we decided to try it out. :thumbsup2

We really liked CSR. The pool is huge and awesome! The slide is fun and the hot tub is the biggest on property. It is a beautiful resort, fun and festive. We loved the Pepper Market, it was easy to get different things for each person and only have to pay once.

Go for the moderate and enjoy!

CSR has the best pool / slide / hot tub combo of all the mods. It has the largest hot tub of all WDW resorts. If your DD loves to swim, you made the right choice. Check out pics on my CSR website below.

Buzz....I went to your site this AM...wow it's amazing and mostly the reason I picked CSR.

Thanks for the reply

Even though I've stayed at CSR before and will again next month, it's main pool area is very much geared to families IMO. If you and the kids are going to be at the parks all day anyway and your DW is planning to stay by the pool, I'd be more inclined to chose a more peaceful place to relax. With that in mind, I'd probably consider POFQ.

I choose CSR.

POFQ pool I feel would be too young for your daugher.

POR is a nice resort, we stayed there twice and would go again, but CSR was our choice to try something new and because of the Dig Site.

CBR, I don't like the main pool area. Hopefully when its refurbish next year I could add it on our list to stay at. I like the fact they have larger rooms and I like the sink area best of all the moderate resorts.

For us the pool is an extremely important part of our vacation. I think the kids enjoy the pool and the water parks the most.

After lots of indecision, second and third-guessing & looking at websites & threads on this board, we're going with a split stay at Pop and CSR--but as lots of DISers said, they're all good choices anyway! Whichever of the mods you choose, enjoy!

Exactly! I have been at all the mods and enjoyed them all.

Well, like you, I have been trying to decide between mods - specifically POFQ and CSR. I have never stayed at either. I also have not stayed at CBR. I have stayed at POR.

The reasons I like POFQ are:
1. POFQ is usually picked up first with buses before POR
2. Boat to DTD
3. Small resort
4. POFQ is probably beautiful since POR is gorgeous
5. Simple, easy, fast, Food Court

Reasons for not being too sure about POFQ:
1. POFQ shares buses with POR and POR's bus service left a lot to be desired. I get the heebee jeebees just thinking about being part of that circus again when MK let's out, but I guess you find that at most resort bus stops when MK lets out, but sheesh, those POR lines were looooong and a few times we had to wait for a bus over an hour to get to MK.
2. Not as centrally located as CSR, but not too bad

CSR on the other hand is a convention resort, and while that is a bit unsettling, it might make their buses less crowded since the conventioners are busy during the day.

I am leaning more toward CSR because:
1. It is more centrally located than POFQ
2. The bus service might be better
3. It is pretty and different

The cons for CSR imo
1. There is a big convention starting at the end of my stay there and I don't know what that will mean as far as crowds in the food court and noise at night
2. I have heard many complaints about the Pepper Market being confusing and taking a lot longer than your average food court, but I might plan on doing take out to avoid it.
3. It's huge, lots of walking, but I never minded the walking at POR, so maybe it will be ok

I just tell myself I will eventually stay at both, so I can't make a mistake. Good luck with your decision.

Hi! I'm here at CSR right now. I have stayed at POR, AKL and ASMu prior to this stay and I must say I LOVE:love: this place. :thumbsup2 I like AKL for the overall theme but these rooms are great. They seem bigger to me than AKL did? I don't know if it is just the layout or what. I also have fallen in love with the color scheme in our room. We are in Casitas 2 and have a very pretty court yard view. You can see the fireworks at MK from the patio outside the main lobby and the pool is very fun. We love the quiet pool we are near. This room is very comfortable and the Pepper Market took about 5 minutes to figure out and then it feels like home. We had breakfast at the Maya this am and it was great. My dd (10) loves Pepper Market better than any other place we have stayed. It is a big resort but the bus service is great and you can hop on these little golf cart thingys that are going around if you don't want to walk but the we have always walked the 2 to 5 minutes to get to the main lobby and Pepper Market without any problems. I really cannot say enough about CSR. There have been two or three big conventions here since we got here on June 10th and there seems to be enough room for everyone. This is the quietest resort we have ever been to and we never have had to wait for a bus or for dinner or breakfast in Pepper Market at all. :yay: Also CSR is the closest bus stop when exiting the parks. At least at EPCOT and MGM. I don't remember if it is at MK and AK but I know that they weren't far.
Hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

Yes, the Pepper Market can be confusing the first time you enter. However, once you understand the system it is actually a better system imo. At the Pepper Market you do not have to stand in line to pay for you food while you are actually holding your tray. At the other food courts I have been to, I have always had to stand in a long line to pay for the food. After eating your meal, if you want anything else you have to stand in that line again even if it is only for a cookie. At the Pepper Market, you don't stand in line to pay for you food until after you have finished eating and you are leaving. Even when the PM is really busy, I have only had 3 other people in front of me waiting to pay. I wish I could say that about the other food courts.

The only mod that we haven't stayed at is CSR. But, I can say that POFQ is our favorite so far! We enjoyed it much better than POR and CBR. It was a lovely resort!

I chose POFQ but only because we are headed there in Nov. and I'm hoping it will be great! I really wanted to try CSR but we are taking this trip with my MIL and SIL. MIL doesn't want to have to walk alot at the resort, SIL wants to avoid lots of people - DISers seemed to recommend POFQ because it is much smaller than the other mods with only one bus stop. MIL also liked its decor the best when she saw pics of the mods on allearsnet.

Nice poll!

I am booked at POFQ but was thinking about CSR. It is just me and My sister (two 40 something woman) there for 4 nights in Sept. Any opinions?

I think you should pick the theme you like best.

I don't like New Orleans and skip both the PO resorts.

So, it is a toss-up between CBR and CSR. I like them both a lot. If you asked one day, I'd say CSR...another day, CBR.

CSR is prettier, IMO...but CBR is cuter.

The thing that drives me up the wall about CSR is that they make you wait to be assigned to a food court table (even if the place is empty) and give you silverware...and then charge you a large fee for this!!! Every time I think about that, I get miffed. ...but I do like the Pepper Market - it is very funky and the food isn't too bad. :)

I chose POR. I love that resort. I'd have to write pages to explain why.

As for CSR, and I think I'm a very small minority here, but I hated that resort. I really like the ranchos section, i thought there was nice theming there and it was really pretty at night. I felt there needed to be a second food court between the ranchos and the cabanas. At night there was always a huge line just to get into the food court. I found the employees at the food court to not be that freindly. It was the only time in all of WDW that I had any trouble getting my food without tomatoes (I'm allergic). Also the employees drive around the resort in golf carts and very fast too. I had jump out of the way a few times. Not once did they stop to see if we wanted a ride either.

We switched over to POR during the trip and the difference was amazing. POR is so much more relaxed. THe employees are so much friendlier (that was the first thing I noticed when we arrived). Plus POR is gorgeous. The foliage is amazin and river is pretty. The whole place is green, whereas CSR has a lot of beige.
