DH and I are going to sneak a trip to Disney for Columbus Day weekend and I just found out there is no availability for any of the deluxes (where we usually stay) and the only moderate available is CSR. We booked a water view room. I have some questions:

1. Does anyone know of any special event (other than 3 day weekend) that would cause all the rooms to be full? Maybe the CBR closing? Just find it hard to believe as we've stayed on property during spring break and Christmas without a lot of advance notice. I'm concered about crowds at the parks.

2. CSR looks very nice, from what I've read. Any recommendations for a water view building? We'll have a car, and usually drive, so bus locations are not that important. We also wont have our children, so would prefer a quiet pool over the digsite. Also, since we are only there a few days and will stick to our favorite restaurants, the proximity to El Centro is not that important. I'd more prefer non-smoking, near a quiet pool, with a nice view.

Thanks!

There is a 10k race from Epcot to the Wide World of Sports on the 13th (Sunday). Even when booking a couple months ago, there was very limited availability for that weekend. Guess you are lucky you got something.

As CSR, I like the Casitas, building 1. It is the "urban" area of CSR.

We had a cabanas room in 9A with a water view and it was a great location. CLose enough to El Centro and the Dig Site but right near the quiet pool with a beautiful view of the water and use of the hammocks around the water. I think it's a very romantic place. Have a great time.

I stayed in the cabanas and they were nice and quite. The only area I did not like the look of were the buidings in the back-I think they are the rancheros? They were multistories and reminded me of apartment buildings. It's been a while since I was there, but I remember driving around and being glad I didn't end up in the back.

Since you have a car and no children, the ranhos section would be very quiet. Check out my website below for some pictures. 7b is surrounding the quiet pool. Enjoy!! It's a great resort.

We went without kids for the first time ever:D and enjoyed CSR! We loved the Cabanas. We had a waterview in 8B(they upgraded us), though 9B looked like a great location too. 8B is right by the quiet pool. I thought it would be quite a hike from the Ranchos section when we took a walk. During our week in Sept, about half the ranchos were closed, no guests in them. We had easy access to the hammocks also, and enjoyed them:D !
I think I will request 9B when we take our children, 8B was perfect for this time.;)
