We are arriving on an early flight to Orlando(10am arrival) and are heading over to CSR. :Pinkbounc We are renting a car so we won't be waiting on ME.
We know our room probably won't be ready.
I'm bringing bathing suits in our carry on and we will need to change in order to swim while we wait, but I read on the DIS somewehere that you need the room key in order to use "the facilities " near the pool! :confused3 :jumping3:
If our room is not ready (and we don't have the "key" )how will we accomplish this? Thanks

You can use the pool if your are waiting on your room to be ready. You won't have a problem at all!

When you get there, check in to the hotel. Once you are checked in, you are a hotel guest, as far as they are concerned. If your room isn't ready, that's not your fault. If someone poolside gives you a probkem, tell them to call the front desk to verify that you are checked in and awaiting a room assignment.

FWIW, we have stayed at CSR several times and have never had anyone ask for any kind of ID.

We just stayed at CSR last year, and no room key or any other type of ID is required to enter the pool area. The hotel will lock up your luggage for you, and you can change in the rest rooms.

Have fun! :sunny:

I seem to remember having to use my room key to access the rest rooms at the quiet pool at CSR. I don't know how it is at the main pool though. But wouldn't you get your room key when you check in even if the actual room isn't available yet ?

I plan on doing the same thing as the OP. We arrive at 10:45am and I am pretty sure we are renting a car. I am assuming our room won't be ready yet so we planned on doing lunch and swimming in the meantime. It didn't even cross my mind that we would need a room key to access the pool. Should I inform the front desk that I plan to go to the pool and see if they will give me my key ahead of time?

They give you a room key when you check in, whether your room is ready or not. You have nothing to worry about.
