Does anyone know if the cribs at Coronado Springs are large enough for a 2.5 year old toddler? He is fairly tall, maybe 75th percentile for height. We really want him in a crib, and the room is a King so there is no spare bed for him.

Thanks, Portie

Other than the front desk calling a pack & play a 'crib', I don't think so. Even if they have "real cribs", it will be the 1/2-size metal infirmary-style crib, pack & play 1" mattress, and they have no fitted sheets for it. A real nightmare if you are used to a full crib at home.

We always rent from A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com) in Orlando. They have the nicest things to rent, and a full crib is just one of the things we get from them. Their website has detailed descriptions and photos of everything, and even answers to questions. Everything is waiting for us when we arrive, and they pick up after we check out. They get rave reviews on these boards.

Hope this helps! Have fun.

Portie - DS did just fine in a PNP last December at WDW. He was about 39" tall at the time, so didn't even fit stretched out, but it just didn't bother him. We did bring our own sheet, and after the first night, put a folded blanket under the sheet so that it didn't rustle so much.

If that won't work for you, I think that a full-size crib rental is really the only way to go.

Why? Is it because you want the king for yourselves? Both of my ds' were in regular beds by this age, but dd is not. However, she slept in a bunk at AKL and a full at CSR with no problems before returning happily to her crib at home.

Thanks to everyone for the help. I am not exactly sure how we ended up with the King. I think standard rooms were in short supply and the Reservations Agent recommended the King room--more floor space for the child to play and more room for the crib.

My wife also thought a King would be better if our son wants to sleep in bed with us, and the Disney moderate full-size beds are a bit small for just the two of us.

We may end up renting a crib from the Baby's Best Friend. On the other hand I recall as a kid sleeping in a sleeping bag on the motel room floor at a very young age. Would I be a monster if I just had him sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor??

King room was great for us. The kid fit fine in the pack-and-play style playpen they brought to our room 10 mins after we requested it. We brought our own sheets and blanket for him. He slept in the little sink alcove--I know this sounds cruel but he really needs quiet and darkness and the curtain was great. He slept better at CSR than he does at home and skipped no naps.
