We are planning to go the last week in September. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old who'll be 16 months old at the time of our trip. We want to book the vacation right away but are having difficulty deciding where we should request to stay (i've read about both the Cabanas and Casitas and am just unsure what is best for us). On one hand, some people like being near bus stop 2 which is the first stop in and first stop home (big advantage with impatient little ones). On the other hand, the Cabanas has sandy areas that would be nice for the kids as well (even though we plan to spend most of our days at the parks). It also sounds like it is quieter there, and away from any of the conventioners that may be staying during that time.

I would love any and all opinions on where you think we should request. I want to make sure we make the best decision for our family before we book. I hate to go to such a magical place and have something like the actual hotel area ruin our trip.

Thanks everyone.....

I would say cabana's, because that is where I requested for our october trip. Like you said the sand areas look great and the walk is supposed to be shorter to EL centro and the Pool. Everyone says th buses are not packed so I don't think that will be a problem.

We have stayed in Casitas all six visits (and hoping to be there for visit number seven in September). We have never had any issues with this section being loud with convention people. We like Casitas 4 and 5 because it is near the quiet pool and the spa/fitness center. There is a sand area for the kids to play in at the Main Pool as well.

Request Cabana 9A if you want to be close to the Canbana quiet pool. laundry, and a very short walk to the Dig Site and El Centro. Choice of 2 bus stops: Cababa's and El Centro's.

Have fun !

We've stayed in the Cabanas twice and like the location. Our first trip, we were in 9B and it was a short walk to the Pepper Market and to Bus stop #1 (which is the last one picked up before heading to the parks). Our last trip, we were in 9A, but on the far side (literally in the end room) and we were closer to stop #4. It was a little farther to PM but still not too far. We never had to stand on the buses heading to the parks even getting on at the 3rd stop. The Dig Site pool was a short walk from either building.

That said, we have requested Casitas for our next trip. I just want to try a different location and I think the Casitas section is just beautiful. We also would like to be first on/off the bus in case of a cranky 2-yr-old. ;) I asked for Casitas 3, 4 or 5.
