I am in the early planning for a week vacation for us, and thinking about which moderate we would like. SInce this is not until 2010, I am sure the pool will be open at CBR. Does anyone else think it is just going to be great? I read zero entry and beach bottom. It seems like it will be a huge selling point to chose this resort. Does anyone think the rooms will be updated too? Seems to me it would make sense, to upgrade the entire resort.

On the other hand I read great thinks about CSR. On concern for me, is that it will be mainly working (convention ) groups at the pool each night. We stayed at the Poly early this month, and I dont know if it will be in our budget for a week stay, so I am seeing checking other options. We loved the pool beach area there. The pool to us is a big deal, we take long lunch time breaks at the hotels.

I would love to hear any opinions..

We have stayed at the CSR six times and have never had any problems with convention people at the pools, during the day or in the evening. We only go to the main pool during the day and the conventioneers are in meetings most of the days. At night, we use the quiet pool in our section and it is usually about 10 people at most when we are there (now we do go the first week in September so don't know if that makes a difference).

I have stayed at both...

I LOVE CBR. I stay at CSR if it's the only thing I can get with a discount. Sorry, but the thememing of CSR does nothing for me. (It's hot in Orlando, I don't want to stay in the desert LOL!) And I am four for four with front desk screw ups. (My all time favorite being asked if I would mind staying overnight in a room with NO POWER!)

CBR has bigger rooms, tons of quiet pools and was built before Disney got quite so cheap. My "standard" view room there has never been "full parking lot"

I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. The food is great too!!

Well, CSR's rooms will have just been refurbished by 2010, so you could put that in the back of your mind when making your decision. They're starting the room refurbs this fall, and will be completing them during 2009.

I think both resorts look terrific. We ultimately decided to stay at CSR for our upcoming December trip because of the longer pool slide (our two boys are big time swimmers and sliders) and food/restaurant options there. And because we thought the Christmas decor there looked really pretty. For some reason last year's Christmas decor pics of CBR looked rather lackluster.....kinda like they only put up about half the Christmas decor that they normally put up.:confused3

I know that CBR will have a new pool and pirate ship splash/play area, but the artist's renderings we saw made it look like it would be wonderful for younger children. However, once we see pics of the completed project, if it looks fun for the older kids too, we might have to stay there on our next trip.:goodvibes I do like the fact that the rooms are bigger, and the Caribbean theme is very nice. Especially for us since we've never been to the Caribbean, it would seem almost like two vacations in one.

But for this year, our two vacations in one will be a Disney/Mexican vacation at CSR.:cool1:
