In my opinion disney should make another category in the DDP / dining, the buffet. A buffet is a higher scale than a CS but below a TS. Now I understand that some of you love certian buffets (I'm included), but a buffet is still a buffet. Also with new the buffets comming out (old tusker house) ETC... It sounds like a direction disney is trying to go anyway. With the new DDP coming out disney could still make a plan like the old one (tip included) for those of us that wish to have an all inclusive dining package. I :confused3 kind of understand the tip argument at Table service restaurants. But at a buffet most people don't tip or don't tip anywhere near 15 to 20 %. I'm sure an agreement can be made with waiters concerning an amount per person that they would be happy with. From the fact that the bill doesn't change much, 1 person = X amount , 4 people = 4*X amount. Or just calll it the value dining plan = 1 buffet plus drink and tip, 1 CS plus drink and dessert, and 2 snacks (08 kind) per day for like 29.99.... I'm sure there are many differnt option disney came up with for the 08 DDP I just wish they kept us simple folks in mind.. Whats your opinion?

I would LOVE your value dining plan.:thumbsup2 . We'll be doing the dining plan for the second time on our upcoming trip, and 7 out of our 8 TS meals are buffets or served family-style. It's just way easier with three pre-schoolers, plus we love the character meals. So I'd be all over your proposed plan.

However I don't ever see it happening .Now that the appetizers have been removed, oftentimes a "regular" TS meal could cost the same as a dinner buffet. Doesn't Crystal Palace and some of the others charge around $27 per adult for the dinners? Which could even be more than an entree, drink, and dessert at a TS restaurant. Plus the kids cost more at the buffet--the kid's meals are like $7.49 or something at sit-down TS, and at buffets $9.99 or thereabouts.

To tell the truth I have never paid OOP for a non breakfast buffet, about $20 OOP. I have always been on the DDP. So the 27.99 for Crystal place dinner Buffet was kind of a shocker. SO I'll bump it up to 33.99. ;)

The dinner buffets are kind of pricy. Boma, Chef Mickey's, and Ohana are all over $30 a person once you figure in tax and a tip. I agree with the PP, now that apps aren't included in TS, a buffet is going to cost about the same as a regular TS meal.
