Hi All! I am new to this board but not new to Disney. I have never stayed at CS before and will this November. My question is: Can my kids play in the sandy beach areas and build sand castles and stuff? Also, can they get water from the lake to do so or is it blocked off? I know they cannot swim in the lake but on a visit to CBR, we made sand castles and moats etc. It was a highlight of their trip and the beach areas were right on the lake. From the pics I see of CS, I can't tell...so I am just wondering if I should pack their pales and shovels. Thanks!

There are hammocks on the Cabanas beaches so I don't see why you couldn't make some sand castles there. However you can't get water from the lake. The water is blocked off by high foliage.
I would, however, watch out for ants in the sand. Some bite. Not sure I'd want to play there.

There is a neat sand pit in the Dig Site playground. It is pretty cool. I have pictures on my website.

If there is ants in the sand on the beach they probably will be in the sand pit also.

Just be careful and have a great time.

Thanks so much for the info 0- I enjoyed your website as well!!
