Not sure exactly how to ask this... we have a 10 night rezzie with FD in Sept... and one of the worries/concerns that we have is whether or not we can actually stomach having CS for ten nights.

For those that have CS for long trips, have you had any issues using CS meal for the whole trip? Or do you upgrade your plan?

Seems like a silly question but it is something that we are worried about. I'm hoping that someone can make us feel better about our CS decision.

Thanks for the time.

I'm planning a 14 day trip this summer, strictly CS, which is a first for us. I researched and debated (or as my kids like to say, obsessed) over the decision. But I'm happy with it after I went through all the menus at the parks, there are so many choices - especially at Epcot alone!

I don't plan on eating the same thing twice and there are some healty choices / substitutes available. I think you'll enjoy the freedom that CS gives you and find the food to be more than adequate.

My next problem will be trying to fiugre out how not to gain 10 pounds durin the 2 weeks.

If it were me I would try to pay to upgrade cause CS for 10 nights would be too much for me. Plus there are just times when you want to sit back and be served a nice meal. Well, for me anyway. If you keep the CS try to look at the menus and visit places with nice choices. WPE is good in DTD for example.

Our last 2 trips we have done CS only. We love the freedom and more time to spend in the parks. We usually pay OOP for 1 or 2 dinners and find that is plenty for us. I guess you have to decide what your family enjoys more. Good luck!

Our last two trips, we had the QS plan. We found plenty to eat, rarely burgers and fries. Both trips, we added 1 character breakfast and paid OOP. Other than that it worked great for us.

I would upgrade to have TS meals. I couldn't stomach CS for 10 whole days. I like having a break and sitting down for a meal too. We're not hardcore park all day long type of people either. Our next trip is a kid free for the last time and we're going to eat our way through WDW.

I think a question you have to ask yourself is if that is the way you normally eat at home. If it is, go for it. I agree with the PP that you may want to upgrade to a plan that has TS. I usually get the deluxe dining plan when I go to WDW, but decided to use TIW for my two week trip this summer. With the increase in price this year, I think it will be harder to see a savings and I've maxed on on character buffets. I did all of those last year. Yes, you have to make ADR's for TS but you get to have more of a selection and healthier food(in my opinon). As someone suggested, look at the menus and see what you like. Allears.net has all of them.

We have done mostly cs for our last couple of trips. You can always make an adr or two and pay oop.

We are doing the QSDP for the first time this year. We've alway done the reguar DDP. We do have 3 TS planned that we will pay OOP but am actually looking forward to the freedom of eating when we want - and there is plenty of variety if you do a little research.

For each adult, for 10 nights, it's going to cost you $180 to upgrade.

I think I would rather pay OOP for a TS meal here and there and keep the free QS. At MK alone, you have BoG, Columbia Harbor, Pinnochio Village and Cosmic Rays for great QS variety. At AK, there's Flame Tree, Yak n Yeti, Tamu Tamu Refreshments has some yummy sounding sandwiches, and Pizzafari , and then there's Epcot! I would probably do a TS OOP at HS, but we like Fairfax Fare and Min & Bill's Dockside at HS for QS.

At DTD, Wolfgang Puck Express has great food and great value for QS, Cookes of Dublin, and Bongos has a QS window.

With all of those and your resort food court, I can't imagine eating the same thing twice even in 10 days. If you see you might have some QS leftover, you can use some for breakfast.

Thank you for all of the replies...

I think that we will be keeping CS and doing a TS here and there. It makes more sense economically and gives us the freedom that we were looking for on this trip.

Thanks again!

Hi I am going for the first time with my two children 14& 9 and travelling from the UK, staying for 14 nights. I got QS dining for free with my package. Like yourself I thought about paying extra to upgrade but the thing that has put me off doing that is all the posts I have read about the stress and hassle of getting Dining reservations! I think as it is our first time in Disney and in the USA It will be easier for me to have more flexibility.

I am doing lots of research so I know all the best and more healthier places to eat and also plan on keeping cereal bars and fruit in the room for quick brekkies.

I have booked a character breakfast at Crystal palace one day but I am not booking any more. I plan also to visit US, so the day we are there I will visit an out of park restaurant near US before coming back to Disney. That way we get to experience a meal outside of a theme park in Orlando. If anyone can recommend one just outside of US to have TS I would be grateful. :)
