CS credits w/DP for kids with allergies

I need ideas on CS places that have seafood for my 4-year-old son with about 30 food allergies. So far I know Yorkshire Fish Shop and Columbia Harbor House. Who do I contact about finding out if the fish at Yorkshire has milk in the breading before hand? He can not eat anything on the kids menus! No beef, chicken, turkey, or pork for him. He can't have the pizza or mac & cheese option either due to milk allergy. Most of our time will be at Hollywood and MK and will be using our TS at night. We have ADR's at Boma, Maya, Kona Cafe, and Cape May. Planning on using CS at lunch while in parks, but may go to a resort near by if I need to. We will bring our own breakfast items. Now, that I finally got my ADR's for TS, I need to figure what CS to plan on going to due to his very limited diet. Thanks for all your help!!

The best place to ask is in the disabilities forum. Even though it isn't a disability, they cover all kinds of food related issues over there. Allergies are included in them.
You will get plenty of advice there, where as here you may only get a few suggestions.

Did you mention the food allergies when you made your TS ressies? My DS19 has celiac disease which I mentioned to the CM when I made our ressies. She sent my info over to some other dept and I got an email with several different documents that included information on CS and snacks that was specific to his allergy. I would recommend that you call; I'm sure they can send appropriate info for your child's allergies.

Yes, I already filled out the special diet request form too with our ressies info on it. Then sent a reply back staying they forwarded it to my 4 TS places. I did get several pages of product listings and allergy friendly snacks. The first page was pretty much no good to us, it was all about what was in their beef hotdogs, hamburgers, and other CS foods or kid menu items. He can't eat any of that due to all of his meat allergies. I will give them a call though and see if they can recommend any CS for seafood. I basically just need names of CS that has seafood, if anyone else knows of any. Thanks!

Check the menus online to see which CS serve seafood. You can probably ask Special Diets if the seafood dishes have ingredients he should avoid.

Definitely contact the special dining again. You have pretty severe allergies and quite honestly Child/Adult credits aside, it'll be a struggle to eat at CS locations regardless.

I would contact them with a list of brands/items that he would normally eat at home and ask if they have any of them available at CS locations.

Not knowing all 30 of the allergies, they do have a vegan mozzerella cheese at some locations, and they do have some dairy free crusts and pastas, so perhaps they can help your son out.

DEFINITELY call today. Some of these items require 2 weeks advance notice, and your ticker looks like you're right on the edge of two weeks.

I got an email back from Special Diets and they said that it is best to check with the CS when you go, because products may changed. She also said to make sure I ask to speak to a manager or leader, because the front line CM aren't up to date info on products. She also told me that somewhere my allergy form got messed up while sending it to my ADR's and resort, so I had to send it again. Part of the form was cut off or didn't scan right when they sent it.

I would just plan on using his CS credits for snacks or meals for others in the family....bring along a sandwich or something you KNOW he can eat - and then get a side (of fruit, or similar if he can have that) - for him to eat during the CS meals. I would look at his DDP credits as exclusively the buffet and TS ones where you know he can find stuff to eat. ANd anything else he gets can just be 'bonus', but wouldn't count on it.

Most of the time I would say that the DDP might not be the best option for a family like yours, however, if he can eat at those TS places, since kids plan is so cheap - you are all set - even if you don't use his CS credits and have to buy him something at CS places.

I know a few of them could make a dairy free pizza for my niece, but they needed 24 hrs notice or at least us to drop by earlier in the morning and let them know we wanted one.

I never bothered. It was too much work and planning for me. We just shared my CS and I would get a 1/2 chicken meal. That won't work for you.

Since your son has more tricky allergies, I would not rely on just any resort to have something to feed him. If you know at DHS that there isn't a CS anywhere where he can eat, then I would get a hold of someone at a resort near there and find out if they can accomidate him. You don't want to spend your trip running around trying to feed him.

I found DHS a pain to feed my niece-I think Pizza Planet required us to call for a pizza the day before. Some days we were full with the TS meals, we just grabbed popcorn and a drink for lunch.

Even the milk free pizza won't work for him, I just looked up every item on the allergy product list that Special Diets sent, and that cheese has soy in it. We will have a medical use fridge in our room, and I might have to run out to the store and just buy him some stuff for lunch. I did pack some extra snacks for him and breakfast stuff that doesn't have to be kept cold. (Yes, I said I have already started packing! Got to make sure I don't forget anything.) Another idea is one person had told me that POP is great with allergies. We aren't early birds and at the rope drop every morning. We like to take our time in the morning, and stay late if he is up to it. So, I might get POP to prepare his lunch and then take it to the park with us. I figured we will eat our CS lunch close to the time that many of those places are opening up. We have 5pm TS ADR's most of the time to get to back to the parks for night stuff, so I don't want to eat lunch late. Our latest is 6:30 and that is the first night when we will be getting to Disney at check-in time. Thanks for the help.

We have beef and gluten allergies in our party and it's hard to find food for everyone. I can't imagine what it's like dealing with 30. My heart goes out to you.

POP is excellent! Chef Dan should still be there. He told me last year he didn't plan on leaving anytime soon. All the others that were there when I took my niece have moved to other resorts.

They will make up a CS meal for you to take to the park.

We asked them to make an extra pizza for at the airport, I think they thought I was joking as they only made up one. The chef made another while my niece ate her lunch. She loves her pizza!

He may not get exactly what he wants but they'll find something he can eat and will just charge you his child credit. It does take pre=planning. I always go way before the lunch rush and explain what I need and then usually come back at a pre-set time otherwise it's usually at least 30 mins for an allergy meal even if it's not made special. Resorts are much much easier to deal with and have kitchens and more ingredients. If you are really counting on a specific product you really need to contact them. I had a great experience one trip at POR but the next trip they were out of stock on most of the special allergy items like the pizzas and the marinara sauce without soy. There were a number of irritated people. I ended up with pasta with just olive oil for something like $14.95 ;P
