If all the credits are lumped together can an adult order of the childs menu or vice versa child order off the adults menu? We have a disney adult that wants the kiddie menu and the other half of our party has a kid that wants something off the adult menu. Will it all work out if we are on seperate cards?

CS credits are not separated. However, Disney policy is that child credits should not be used to order adult meals.

No reason why the child and the adult shouldn't order the meals and then swap them.

Well the situation is this:

My cousins "adult" 12 year old son wants the childrens menu and he will be with my husband obviously he is not on our card.

My son 3 wants something off the adult menu and he will be with me and my SIL in another park.

I just dont want to screw up the credits since half our gg will be in one park and the other in another park but we are essentiallly trading meal for meal just in different places and from different cards. This stuff is so confusing.

I see what the situation is - however, the DIS doesn't advocate violating Disney policy by using child credits to purchase adult meals. I can't see there being a problem with using adult credits to purchase a child meal as Disney's not out any money on that one.

If your cousin's kid is not with his own family how would the kid use the dining plan from his own reservation to purchase a meal? Would he use his own key card? Or are you asking if your husband can pass your cousin's kid off as your 3 year old and you can pass the 3 year old off as the cousin's 12 year old? Or could your husband get the adult and kids meal from your reservation, and your cousin order the adult meals from hers? As long as the proper credits are being used to purchase the proper meals, nobody is going to care who actually eats the meals.

We are swapping meal for meal just in different parks. Thanks for the explanation; it seems as though it will work if we swap out credits for another meal it wont mess anything up. I never knew exchanging chicken nuggets for a hot dog could be such a problem. LOL. At least it will work out for us and that is what matters. My 3 year old will get the 12 year olds meal and vice versa the 12 year old will get the 3 year olds meal. :thumbsup2

The 12yo and the 3yo will both have a KTTW card for their park entry. The parents of the 12yo just need to allow charging on his card then he can pay for is own meals from his family's plan. I would advocate NOT allowing charging on your 3yo's card, but anyone needing paid park entry will have a card.
