We have been to MK hundreds of times over the years, but this trip was a new experience because I'm pushing my wife in a WC. Rays, Bills and Harbor House were all so crowded we cou'd evenbget in the door and this was around 2PM!

I finally foubnd a table outside, and parked my wife - a family was walking around looking for a table and we invited thenm to share ours - they were very nice and fun to talk to. I went to the out door CS (used to be the McDonalds fry place) and got reasonably good food fairly quickly. We were sitting in the sun and it was an enjoyable meal.

I think my point is that your whole perspective changes when you have to change the way you do things. MK has always been a problem with food and the new restaurant they are building is sorely needed. They need a couple more CS places too.

The line at Harbor House was out the door and around the corner. That's just crazy!

I think the trick is to eat during "off peak" hours. We eat lunch at 11 if we're eating CS in the parks and have never run into any kind of line.

Was it the outdoor CS between Pecos Bill's and Splash Mountain?

If so, it's a little gem! The tables are located off to the side, and even lit at night. They serve a fried chicken breast sandwich that is different and really good! We had it hot and fresh and was served with lettuce and ranch dressing. Was a hit with our family!

At peak times, I agree, the CS options are always crowded. We've learned to eat at off peak times and just snack in between when we are hungry. Our favorite snacks to hold us over are the baked potato in Liberty Square and the egg rolls in Adventureland. :)

My goodness, it must have been busy! As I said in another post, we tend to eat early, as soon as the CSs open.

Glad you found your nice little spot.

:)

So sorry that sounds awful.

I know at CHH there was a special area for Handicapped seating, so next time you may want to check that out.

When we were there last week, we ate at 11 and avoided the madness. The restaurants were def packed later, well into the afternoon.

Glad you enjoyed the food at the old fry cart, I didn't get to try it this trip.

That CS where the fry cart used to be is called the Golden Oak Outpost.

Totally off topic, but I miss being able to get McDonald's fries in the parks.

We also eat lunch in the park counter service locations at 11:00 AM and never seen any long lines during that time.
