Crystal Palace WITHOUT dining plan...Is it worth it?

we always go to CP with or without the grandkids...one year we went with another couple and enjoyed ourselves......great buffet and the characters are excellent with or without kids.
Have fun wherever you go

I have a dinner reservation at CP in March but I am only going there because my DD is a major Pooh fan (and I'm only doing Dinner because I booked it late in the game). Personally, if I were paying OOP, I'd consider a monorail resort. I enjoyed The Wave a lot in 2009 and I've heard good things about Kona, Ohana, Grand Floridian Cafe and, to a lesser extent, Whispering Canyon. I'd pick any of those choices over CP if I was not interested in the characters.

It's funny that The Wave was suggested because I decided this morning not to do CP. It isn't worth it for us. If it were princesses as characters, it would be a whole different story, but my kids have no interest in Pooh at all. Anyway, I actually am now deciding between The Wave and Kona, but I think I'm leaning towards The Wave - especially because it's so close to MK and I want to be sure to get back for the 9pm parade. Thanks so much for all of the help!

We do Crystal Palace every year and love it. With that being said, we choose it because of the location and we do enjoy the food. I have a 13 :cool1:year old ds that could care less about the characters, but he does still go through the motions of the autograph books and doesn't pass on the opportunity to pose for a picture with the characters. The past 2 years we have paid oop and one a late lunch. This year we are doing it at 8:30 on a Sunday night because it's one of the nights that MK is open until 2 or 3am. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you decide. :goodvibes

I've eaten at CP for breakfast and dinner and liked it...however, I've been on the DDP. The food at 1900 Park Fare is a little better I think, and it's a buffet also.

We pefer the QSDP. But we always do a couple of ts meals. CP is the one we choose for breakfest this year. It was so packed but that didn't really bother me. We just had a server that was so slowWWWWWWWWWWWWW! I left with the kids after the bill arrived and dh didn't show up for another 30-40 minutes. Next time we will ask for our bill when they ask us what we want for beverages. IMO it was worth the price. We are doing Tukser house this year for breakfest.
