We are thinking of trying either Crystal Palace or Chef Mickeys for breakfast on our next trip. We normally just do food court stuff for breakfast but my husband finally agreed to try something new after seeing pics of CP on a dining review. These two places seems so similar both being Character buffets so I need some opinions! TIA :goodvibes

Crystal Palace breakfast before park opening is by far a better choice than chef mickey's. You get into the park early and get a chance to see main street and the castle with 20 people instead of 20,000. Plus, after your meal, you get to walk out into MK....instead of the Contemporary. CP also had better food and it also seemed cleaner and a little less hectic than Chef Mickey's.

If you aren't planning on going to MK on your departure day, then CM's.:thumbsup2

Crystal Palace wins! :cool1: Our entire family (kids 3 all the way up to AARP family members) loved this breakfast. We have done this breakfast on our first full day on our last 3 trips. Everyone agrees that this is a must do. I keep trying to get them to do breakfast at the castle, but I get over ruled every time. Breakfast with Pooh is a tradition with us now.

Both have nice breakfasts.

If you can, book the CP for 8am on a NON emh days and get into the park before it opens. That's nice for pictures with no crowds in them.

CM is more active. And Mickey and Minnie are there. But it's also a bit hectic. The CP is a bit more relaxed.

We do both on every trip now. I only tried the CP for the first time 2 trips ago. I've been to CM about 50 times. That being said, if I had to choose one, I'd probably choose the CP.

We love :worship: Chef Mickey's and would go there first. But if you want to get into the park before it opens make an early ress for CP. CP is good to but just love CM so much more.

For me, it's a toss-up. They both have really good buffets.

I guess that the two deciding factors would be:

1. Which characters my family wanted to see (CM = Mickey & friends; CP = Pooh & friends)

and

2. Was I going into the Magic Kingdom that day.

Either choice will be yummy! :)

I have to agree with you on this one! Our first year we went to Disney we did Crystal Palace before we did Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's was hectic. The character interaction was good at both, but there just seemed to be a little more extra at Crystal Palace that has made it a do-every-trip for our family!

Thanks to everyone for all the advice so far! I am leaning towards CP but we'll see. I think it would be great to see MK almost empty.

CP is awesome and you can get into the park before it opens.

DH used to love just CS breakfasts, now he is hooked on the buffets like Boma (to die for), Cape May and CP. Kona is another fantastic choice.

Enjoy which ever one you choose!

What is the gender and age of the child? Is Pooh for them?

We took my 5yo nephew to Chef Mickey's and he loved it. CM's is bright, loud and there are 5 characters there: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck. The breakfast spread is great, the napkin waving is really fun. Also they take a group photo before seating you at Chef Mickey's, its an option to purchase though.

Finally, when are you going? That may make your decision a moot point as Chef Mickey's is often hard to book.

I had CP booked for my next trip and CM's booked to. If I had to choose just one of them it would have been CM's. I am so not a Pooh fan, the menu at CP was of interest to me.

My son is almost 2 now and he likes all of the characters so he wouldnt really care which one was there. Also we havent booked our trip yet but it wont be until January 2009 so I dont think I will have a problem getting either of them. Im sure we will eventually try both. :thumbsup2

We had ressies at Kona for breakfast on our last trip but had to cancel them the night before because most of our family didnt want to go. :confused3 Hopefully we will get to try it on our next trip.

Our two favorite breakfasts are Crystal Palace & Chef Mickey's - we do both and would be hard pressed to choose one instead of the other. Both have good food, but CP has a slight advantage due to the puffed french toast. Both have fun atmospheres. Character interaction has been better at CM - not rushed & have seen some characters twice. CP character interaction is good, but sometimes we've had to wait around to see a character. We always get an 8:00 am adr for CP on a non-emh day - it's so cool to walk down an empty main street & makes for good castle pics too.

We have not tried CP for breakfast. But we will on our next visit.:goodvibes

We do love CM because of the high energy environment!
