Crystal Palace Refurb Jan/Feb 2010 - LTT Characters return for refurb?

t's rumored that the Crystal Palace restaurant at the Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment during January and February of 2010. As usual, take this as speculation until it is officially confirmed.

I heard this and googled and found it on wdwmagic.com

I hope they dont decide to change it. That is the best restaurant in the whole Walt Disney World. I hope it is just an update to the look.

My family and really enjoyed the characters at Liberty Tree. I hope they stay after CP reopens. It isn't the same and we are not going there in a trip on October because the characters are gone. Goofy in the colonial cloths is the great!

We love Liberty Tree, too. It has a special ambiance all of its own that is unique to WDW.

Oh no.
I've been reading the disboard for months now. Crystal Palace was the only restaurant that I was 100% sure about to make an ADR for Feb 2010 ...

My DD loves Winnie the Pooh ... what am I going to do??????
Is there any other character dining with Winnie & Co somewhere else?
Also we wanted to try and get an early ADR to get into MK before opening ... does Liberty Tree Tavern do breakfast?

They had Pooh & Tigger at Park Fare along with Mad Hatter, Alice & Mary Poppins last year (breakfast Only)

It's supposed to be a 2 month rehab, but ususally they run a little over! The rehab is just to the kitchen and dish area (as far as I've been told by good sources). The characters will be going to LTT while this is going on. Will characters return to LTT? No! Having Characters at a restaurant is very, very expensive (way more then just paying the hourly wage). When LTT removed them, their business didn't really go down. There's only so many places in the park to eat so their attendance stayed the same (less ADRs, but more walk ins). So now, without Characters, LTT is actually making more money. I can't see Characters returning because of that.

After it's refurbed you see the, "due to guest demand, the price of the breakfast, lunch, and dinner services has been increased by $4".

They are definitley going down for rehab 1st week of Jan, rehabing kitchen and front of house. Contractors have already been measuring dinning room area for updates. Estimated time for rehab has been anywhere from 6-10 weeks. This info comes from people working there.

Oh I hope not! We love to eat at Crystal Palace for breakfast before the park opens. Now how will we sneak into MK early....
