I will be at the world in August for FDD(so excited by the way:goodvibes ), and I've been to Crystal Palace MANY times, and we simply love it!!
But, I was thinking of trying something new this time.
How does Chef Mickey's stack up to Crystal Palace?

We are CP lovers, been there many times.

We tried CM for dinner this past Oct and did not like it at all, not as big a selection and not as delicious as CP

We have done both breakfast and dinner at both Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace. I was not impressed with breakfast at Chef Mickeys but really liked dinner there. Crystal Palace was great for both meals. I would recommend dinner at Chef Mickeys.

My DH and I were to both in January with no expectations from either (having never been previously). I much prefered Chef Mickey's. Though I must mention, that I love Mickey:love: So I may be a bit Biased. :rolleyes1

The food was very good at both, though my arm got tired from twirling my napkin at Chef Mickey's during his Celebration. There was very good interaction with the characters and you didn't have to make sure the kids were on the outside of the table. I found the service much better at Chef Mickey's compared to seeing our waitress only twice at the Crystal Palace. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose Chef Mickey's again over going to the Crystal Palace.

Now that I just booked our second trip for September as well, I have to decide if I will go back to either of them or try new places.

I'm pro Chef Mickey's. I think its the best character b-fast at WDW

I also have 2 boys and they loved Chef Mickey's. We ate dinner at both places and I thought the food at CP was better. I loved the dessert and sundae bar at CM, though.

We loved both. We had dinner at both places. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite:confused3

I would go back to both!! Although I'd like to try CP for bkfst.

We love CP for breakfast and Chef Mickeys for dinner.... but do not like Chef Mickey for breakfast and do not like CP for dinner....

It would depend on what meal you are going to. We have been to both CM and CP, and I would say breakfast is better at CP and dinner is better at CM.

We have been to both and we like Breakfast at Chef Mickey's and dinner at CP....I think Chef Mickey's is just a great and fun way to start your day esp. before going to the MK:thumbsup2

We've done breakfast at both (never dinner), and we MUCH prefer the food at CP, but the kids liked CM's better simply because of the characters ("Pooh is for babies." ) I honestly didn't think the selection was all that great at CM's.

We've done both CM's for breakfast and CP for lunch - I think the food at each is OK - typical Disney buffet fare. The only difference for us is truly the characters - my kids have outgrown Pooh so they enjoy the CM characters more. For us it's not a Disney trip if we don't go to CM's for Mickey waffles and raucous napkin waving!!:)

I have done both and my opinion is that CM's is the best character meal in WDW. It was fun. Had a lot of energy and the food was good, too.

Thanks to everyone for their input!
We will be going for dinner, and i believe that we're leaning towards Chef Mickey's, just because we've never been. And since it's free dining it's always nice to try something new. :thumbsup2

I was going to say do Chef Mickey's because it will new and will add a fresh experience to this years trip. On the other hand, if Crystal Palace has become a family tradition...I could see a lot of stress placed upon Chef Mickey's to meet your expectations.

I would definately do Chef Mickey's for breakfast though... It's like a big party, :woohoo: a great way to start your day especially if you are going ot MK that day! But I love CP too, but more for dinner!!!! Try to do both!!!! (isn't that nice I am trying to spend your TS!):rotfl:
