Can't decide between the two. Characters don't really matter, both of the kids like all the characters. We will be staying at the WL, so it should be fairly easy to get to either one. Which one has the best food and atmosphere?

What meal would this be? If it's lunch/dinner, then I would suggest Crystal Palace. For breakfast I think Chef Mickey's has the slight edge.

I second that! :Pinkbounc so does DH, but DD's say chef mickeys for any meal!

LOVE the CP for breakfast--we do it everytime. It is so bright & cheerful inside, the character interaction is great & I think the food is really good. It is also really cool to get to MK before the crowds in the morning & take pictures of the castle, Main St., etc.

I've never done CM for breakfast, but we had dinner there once & it was ok, but not a repeat.

We have done both, but not for breakfast. That said, I much prefer Crystal Palace. The building itself is great, the food is awesome, and you'll already be in the park when you are finished eating.

By far, CP is the best. We've done breakfast in both and dinner only at Chef Mickey's. CP has the better character interaction, and food IMHO.

I would choose the CP because I love the atmosphere, plus getting into MK early.

Crystal Palace is good but I voted for Chef Mickey's. 2 reasons: 1) When I went, I thought the food was better and the character interaction was better. 2) I know we all have to eat at the park but I hate to take that much time out of the parks. I may be a little more commando about my park exploits than others but I try to eat and get up as quick as I can so I can enjoy all of the park that is possible.

CP is great for food and atmosphere! Get the earliest seating you can on a non-early EMH day. It's a great chance to get pics in front on the castle without the crowds and you'll be fininshed with breakfast and out in the park before the crowds too. We managed to do all of Fantasyland with hardly any lines just because we got that early start. It was a really great day.

We do love CM, but that's usually a dinner for us rather than breakfast.

Have a good trip!

Chef Mickey's was awful at breakfast when we went in May. It was so busy and we had to wait a really long time to be seated, despite ADRs. The lines to get food were long with kids cutting in front of you constantly, and the service - getting drinks or getting plates cleared - was slow. Character interaction was the worst of all the character meals we went to (also Crystal Palace dinner and Garden Grill dinner). We did Crystal Palace for dinner and liked that it was in the MK, thus easy to get to on our MK day and it is really nice inside. However, cannot comment on it for breakfast.

We love CP because of the beutiful building and also getting to walk down Main Street Before the parks open.

I was a Chef Mickey fan. I've eaten breakfast and dinner there several times on several trips. Never took a trip without a Chef Mickey meal. That was until last October. Please understand, we have no young children in our travel group, I am the baby and I'm 39. But we have no problem with children there, it is for them! :teeth: But one of the reasons for my going there....well look at my name! Fan of Goofy.....he's there..

Anyway, my last trip (forever) was this past October. Eating breakfast, minding our own business, until the singing started and the napkin twirling. Now, don't get me wrong, I did it to. Well, the table beside us had three children (please continue reading, I am not blaming the children!!!!!!)
Well, the twirling began, and well, I didn't have that food on my plate BEFORE the twirling. One of the girls over filled her plate, spilled some food and was polite to clean it up as to "not have a messy table" (yes I talked to the parents, they too noticed "food particles" flying from napkins and apologized, I said "What for, you probably have my "particles" all over your table too!") She began to twirl her napkin to participate...I was too....until my plate, myself and my mother were covered in potatos. Please understand, we were kind, we were not standing up screaming. It was a mistake, it was not meant in harm, and like I said, I was flinging my napkin around as well. The cast members were wonderful! They help all involved, including The father and baby sister of the family who got covered in potato, get cleaned up. They cleared our tables entirely and started us all over again. Even gave us all an "extra napkin" to twirl. But after this instance, the mother and myself watched the next "twirling" Food particles EVERYWHERE. Needless to say, the mother, her family, myself and my family couldn't believe it. I never noticed before. It wasn't too bad. You really had to watch, but still.....ew!

Please, do not get me wrong.....I love  love  love  Chef Mickey's. I love their food, I love the party atmosphere. I love my Goofy:goofy:....sigh. But I couldn't eat there again. I am even staying at the Contemporary this December, and we are treking over to Crystal Palace. No Goofy,:goofy: but Mom's Eeyore:eeyore: is there. It is calmer, and the food, well, I will admit it.....it's FANTASTIC!!!!

My suggestion going to Chef Mickey's.....ask for two extra napkins. That way you will have three. one for you to wipe your mouth and hands, one to twirl and one to cover your plate. Just don't get them confused! :thumbsup2
