I have had a lunch ADR for some time since I was not able to snag a breakfast ADR. I just checked and an ADR opened for a late breakfast. Now I don't know which I should stick with.

We are on the dining plan and have never been to Crystal Palace.

Which would you choose a late BK (10:20) ADR or an early lunch ADR (11:35)?:confused3

Thanks

I like to do a late breakfast. We will plan to be at the park for rope drop and then by 10:30 or 11am we are ready for a little break. So that's a perfect time to have a nice breakfast. Plus, we all really love to have breakfast out and only do it while on vacation.

I'll take the other side: we always did a lunch at CP because breakfast buffets are basically egge-meat-pancake/waffle based with a few meat and fruit dishes added. Lunch can be wonderfully unique dishes--get on allearsnet.com and look over both menus and see which appeals to your particular family tastes :surfweb:

I'm with dzneelvr on this one. If I had to pick only one I would go with an early lunch.

I really enjoy both. As a previous poster said, the food for breakfast is fairly standard, although in my opinion has a slight edge on many of the other similar buffets. I just like to get an early ressie and get into the park early if I can. We are doing 2 meals (as usual) there in October because my DD likes the lunch (it just MIGHT have something to do with the self serve icecream and a really nice dessert selection ..... :rolleyes1). I don't think it makes a difference but for only a few dollars more, the lunch is really worthwhile. I justify the breakfast because I do like the food, DD gets the characters and some good pics and I get into the park early. :)

I'd definitely go with the late breakfast. They have a lot of options and you might even get to enjoy some of the lunch items too!

Since DD's BBB appointment at the castle is at 8AM, we're going to lunch at 11:50. We only want to have one sit down breakfast and that's already reserved for Akershus :). CP's lunch menu looks really good!

We have had lunch there before about 5 years ago and it was good, and when we go in September we have an ADR for breakfast that I am really excited about....keep hearing about the puffed pastry that is suppose to be amazing....plus our ADR is before the park opens, so that is a plus as well :goodvibes Good luck with whatever you decide, it all comes down to, do you want a breakfast menu or lunch menu.

We did not care for the lunch but love the breakfast. Puffed french toast=yummy! :thumbsup2

I vote for late breakfast.
I've eaten there for all three meals (on seperate trips), and breakfast is by far my favorite there. It is one of our "must do" meals every trip.

The puffed french toast and breakfast lasagna are soooo good. The rest of the stuff on the buffet is typical breakfast fare, but still quite yummy.

We have done breakfast and supper at the CP. This past trip in March we ate a late supper there right before the fireworks show. It was actually a nice relaxing dinner after a long day and then we were refreshed for the parade and fireworks. Very good food and great choices for kids.

We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at CP. Breakfast is by far our favorite and a "must do" on each trip.

First of all, you can't go wrong with either.

We used to always do the late breakfast there and it worked out fine.

The last trip we already had three other breakfasts (play-n-dine, akershus and Tusker) we wanted to do, so I gave an early lunch a try. I was hesitant at first because I don't like to fix things that are not broken, but I'm glad we did.

First of all, the food is just as good, better actually, than the breakfast. It was probably our best one of the trip!

Secondly, get there at park opening and you can get some serious attractions in before your lunch. That little bit of extra time makes a difference!

I guess there are some other breakfast options that are close to the quality of CP. Akershus for example does not appeal to some kids at meals other than breakfast. Unless things changed, the characters were only at the Tusker b'fast. The lunch and dinner at play-n-dine was getting bad reviews, but we already knew their breakfast was good! This was the biggest factor why we went with the lunch. I'm telling you, it wasn't a sacrifice at all!

The CP lunch is a "must do" for us forever!

Hope this helps!

Are they good about getting you in at you ADR time or are there waits, traditionally?:wizard:

I'll give a piece of advice on this one. Last year, we went for dinner. When we checked in 10 minutes early, the outside was FULLL of people waiting, and were told a 45 minute wait. SOOO, we ran to POTC, walked on, came back, and should still have had 15 minutes, it took less than 30. A family we had met said "they called your name about 4 minutes after you left". :scared1: So, we had an additional wait time.

Learned my lesson, never leave, regardless of what they tell you.

We went last September on a MNSSHP night and I think our ADR was at 5:25pm. We arrived into the park at 4pm and decided that we would like to have dinner right away and then carry on with the party. I walked up to the check in window (the outside area was totally packed) and asked if it was possible to get in right away instead of 5:25. The CM asked the manager who said yes but you'll have a little wait. About 20-30 minutes. I agreed, walked around towards the front steps where my family was, told them what was going on and then walked a few more steps and found a seat. So this might have taken 3 or 4 minutes. They called our name and we were seated.

I think in general they have a rep of keeping you waiting past the ADR time.

I think it also has to do with the specific timing of the ADR - for example, IME an early dinner ADR has less wait time than a slightly late dinner ADR. Basically the difference of beating the 'rush' in or waiting on the prime-dinner-hour rush to vacate their table. JME.

Yes....along with that I think that the characters seem to take a long time to get around so people end up sitting at the table waiting after they have finished eating.

I would most definitely go with lunch! There lunch menu is good:goodvibes
Get to the park, do some stuff, take a lunch, and continue on!!

we had the same problem with our upcoming Aug '10 trip. So we got both a lunch and breakfast ADR...on different days of course. :-)

:thumbsup2

We love Crystal Palace we always go there for Breakfast on our first and last days because we love it so much. The food is lovely and so are the characters. Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. There is food for everyone, fruit, meat, pancakes and more. It is really worth it. :yay:
