We are in a bind, reservations are about as easy to find as a needle in a haystack.

We have rezzies at cape may cafe at 5 on thursday september 16th....but we'd have to leave magic kingdom to go, and with a 3 yr old, who knows if it'd make sense to go back to MK afterwards. So we want to get away with staying at the park.....we made a rezzie at crystal palace for lunch, but before cancelling cape may cafe......how is crystal palace lunch? the menu seems........below average so to speak.

We are not picky eaters, we have a 3 year old....i like fries, burger, steak, pasta, chicken, etc. is there a good selection?

FTR magic kingdom has a terrible selection of sit down resturants haha :lmao:

Hi
We ate at CP for lunch last Dec, and we really liked it. They had chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, pizza, that my DGD (7) liked. Also, they have fish, (I think it was tilapia), some kind of meat, that I didn't pay attention to since I don't eat meat, also, a lot of different kinds of salads, mashed potatoes, and a lot of different desserts. I can't remember what else they had. I know I've been there for lunch twice, and the first time wasn't that good. But last Dec. was really good. There were more foods that we liked. Also, we like Cape May a lot. We've always had great dinners there. Have fun!

we have had lunch and dinner at cp - not much difference in the menu for the 2 meals there. we really like cp - my picky eater thinks they have enough for him to choose from. we are going this year before mnsshp (did last year too)

Crystal Palace is our favorite place for lunch, went when DS was 3 and twice when 4. Going twice on our upcoming lunch.

DS loves the characters and because of that, doesn't give a fuss about stopping all the fun in Magic Kingdom to sit down and eat. Hey, what a great place to meet Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore. I think the food quality is far superior to other buffets. Love the salmon. Love the carved meats. Love the great variety of unique cold salads. I could really stuff myself there!

For dinner, why not choose a place closer to Magic Kingdom? There are lots of nice restaurants just a short boat ride or monorail ride from MK -- at the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, the Contemporary, and Wilderness Lodge (Boat only).

Grand Floridian is a fun resort to visit. In the afternoon and evening, there's an orchestra that plays in the lobby, alternating with a piano player. 1900 Park Fare has a character dinner and if you keep checking frequently, you might get a reservation. Grand Floridian Cafe is there and that is casual.

The Polynesian has Ohana (extremely hard to get reservation) but also Kona Cafe which is open to the 2nd floor lobby. The theme of the Poly is interesting. Walk out back and you can view the castle from the beach while all the Tiki Torches are lit. Don't forget Spirit of Aloha but I recommend Category 1 seating only. The fire juggler at the end makes the show.

The Contemporary Resort has Chef Mickey's with characters but very hard to get.

The Wilderness Lodge has Whispering Canyon Cafe with some fun antics and stick pony rides and the Hokey Pokey.

I am waiting for my 180 window to open so I can do my ADRs - CP is highest on my wish list (Character lunch on last day). This is great info. - thanks to all the posters.

Your preferences are more CS than TS. In the Magic Kingdom you should probably book the Plaza.

CP was wonderful for us, but we like different things.

My four year old was on a chicken nugget mac & cheese diet (he is a picky eater) so Crystal Palace at lunch worked out well for us and we got lots of time with the characters. It was his birthday and he luvs pirates so we got him the pirate treasure chest cake.
