For us, a character meal with Pooh is essential. My husband is definitely a kid at heart and I know he really wants to dine with Pooh. We're leaning towards breakfast.

Anyone have experience with the Crystal Palace dining? Would you recommend lunch instead of breakfast? Or even dinner?

Also, if we do decide to go with breakfast, what would be the latest seating we could get? We'd prefer to eat later so we could essentially skip lunch.

Love CP for dinner. I wasn't all too crazy about the breakfast, but I'm not a breakfast buffet person.
CP is my character dinner of choice - we used to go every year for my birthday when we lived in FL.

We've only ever eaten breakfast at CP, and in our family's humble opinion, it's the best breakfast on property! :)

The latest seating we've ever had was 10:30 a.m., and as we finished, they were clearing the breakfast buffet and preparing for lunch. I can't say for certain if that's still the latest time -- maybe someone else can confirm?

Either way, CP is a must-do on all of our trips!

Never tried it for breakfast. We scheduled an impromptu late lunch there on our last day before we left. Everything was great. The servers, chefs, and characters were all very friendly and accomodating. I would highly reccomend lunch.

We've done the CP lunch more times than I can remember. In my opinion CP is one of the best places at Disney to eat. We like going for lunch to get a little rest during the afternoon.........it's a nice break the characters are awesome!!! I think you'll love it no matter what meal you do there. We aren't big breakfast eaters......... so we do the character meals for lunch or dinner.

Have Fun!!!!

I have done CP for breakfast several times and loved it! We are doing Chef Mickey's for a change of pace, hope its as good as CP! :confused3

We had dinner there a couple months ago and loved it ! The food was surprisingly good ! Can't wait to go back.

Could someone tell me if Crystal Place has a buffet for dinner or is it a normal menu? If it is a buffet, what is on it?

Between CP and Liberty Tree Tavern, which would you prefer?

We've been to neither, but were thinking of trying on this year.

We always do CP for lunch when we are at MK. I do know that 11:00 is the first seating for lunch. Last year, on the day of a hurricane, when they were closing the parks early, we got seated a bit early and were able to eat breakfast and lunch as they were rushing people through, but still had both buffets set up. That was an experience!

I have only had CP's lunch, but it was very good!!! I tend to not like breakfast buffets because I don't feel like they offer the opportunity to try truly different foods (most are just a spin on the usual eggs/pancakes/french toast offerings of most restaurants).

A few years ago we did 1900 Park Fare, Pooh and Eyeore were both there and it was a good meal.

We've had breakfast there 3 times and loved it every time.

Show these to your husband to get him looking forward to the meal:

My husband loves the pictures!! And he wanted me to tell you...he grew up in NJ and is now in Massachusetts.

We can't wait to go!!

Just a note -- I found the lunch menu on AllEars not at all representative of what they had. The food offerings were much better than the ones listed on the menu -- carving station, good hot and cold entrees and a good salad/sandwich bar.

We prefer CP for lunch - we "go" in the mornings, snack along the way (primarily in lines and in the stroller between rides), have a late lunch (1 or 1:30) and then depart the park for afternoon rest time.

If you have small kids (I can't remember ages?), then you may prefer to take advantage of less-crowded parks in the mornings and aim for a lunch or dinner meal.

I noticed that you are leaning towards breakfast. I have never eaten here either and hope the reviews are right and everything is good. I just wanted to add something about times. Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00AM - we made the 1st available reservation (8:10AM) and will be about finished with breakfast right as everything is opening up. We are doing this on our 1st day in WDW and our kids 3 & 4 who have never been before will be able to run up main street w/o crowds their 1st day :cool1: I'm excited that they're 1st look into WDW will be uncrowded and if we want to get pics of them sitting next to the Goofy statue, in front of the castle, etc. we can get some candids before the crowds/no lines or people walking into your shot as they only let people into the parks with reservations for breakfast. Just a twist on how you can work reservation times to your advantage too.

We eat breakfast at CP every time we go to Disney. It's awsome!! :goodvibes, the food and the interaction with the characters. The dinner is also great. I don't think you would be disappointed if you choose one or the other. Good luck!

Have eaten there for B, L, and D. Every time the food is great, service fantastic and characters are awesome! This place is clean, bright, slightly elegant, but you can wear your sweaty shorts!! It's the only place I eat in MK now that my girls have done Cinderella's a few times. Highly recommended.

We went to CP for breakfast and loved it. We were even late getting to the restaurant and we still got seated right away. The food was great and the characters were even better. Our kids really loved seeing Pooh and all his friends. (In my siggie there is a pic of the kids and Tigger from CP)
