Crystal Palace - Before or After Opening?

I am trying to decide weither or not to go to CP before or after MK opens. If I go before, then I can get some great shots of the castle, but if I go after it opens then I can see the MK Opening with all the characters. We will be going in August so chances of getting good shots of the castle after the park opens is slim to none. We have 3 days there, and if the days for EMH is the same as last year then it looks like we have 2 EMH and 1 regular hours day. And from what I have heard they dont do the special opening during EMH days. So if you had to pick, which one would you choose? Before or after MK opens? Just an added note: I have never seen the special opening or been in the park before it officially opens, so thats why Im having a hard time choosing.

We always do the 8:05 reservation, it is great..Main Street is empty, the food is hot and fresh and we like to be at the bridge to Adventureland right before rope drop

Before, before, before! I love the feeling of having the entire park all to yourself...plus, it's still fairly empty when you are done with breakfast.

while the official opening with the characters is cute, IMO the better option is having main street all to yourself. it is the coolest feeling in the world 9and the pictures are fantastic!)!!!

Are you referring to the Magical Beginning/Little Ones Hour over in fantasyland with Characters? Or talking about EHM??

We have a ressie at 8:05am too on a Magical Beginning Opening Day. (where Fantasyland is open for little ones an hour early) So wondering if we too should make a later breakfast time so we don't finish eating and there will be a crowd already in the park by 9am.

IMOH I dont think the opening of the park is that special - so I would go in before the parks open for breakfast

No. Just regular EMH where the park opens 1 hr before the regular time.
