125k question, and I blew it.

sigh..............................

Alot harder than I thought it would be in front of everyone. I used the LLs on stupid easy ?s because I was concerned about the timer.

Don't feel to bad. I missed the 500,000 question.

I can relate - I also lost at the 500,000 point level (and the 32,000 and the 125,000 and the 250,00). I always really enjoy it though!

I am jealous ...at least you all made it to the Hot Seat.
The closest I ever came was last year. After 11 questions I was number 1 on the point list........the lady blew the 11th question and I had it correct.

BUT the show was OVER after she missed the question. I was PEEVED to say the least.

I also was a "phone - a - friend " last year and got it right for someone on the 32,000 point question.

I stood out on Mickey Avenue by the red phone. Its alot of fun.

I got a pin that said..." I was a complete stranger . "

This is my favorite attraction.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Isn't it surreal? I have been in the hot seat twice & blew it both times because I tried to guess instead of using my lifelines. It's harder than it looks because of the timer & the stage fright!

What I really want to ask though, is where is the red phone? I would love to help other people by being a "Phone A Complete Stranger". I have been at WWTBAM many times & I have only seen this lifeline used once. How do they pick you? Do you volunteer or do they just choose you randomly on the street?

I feel your pain. I made it into the hot seat in May. Missed my 125,000 point question too. Definition of some French word the host could not pronounce. I had no clue and polled the audience--so we all missed it. I was glad I missed a hard question nobody knew so I didn't feel dumb.

Same vacation my hubby got in hot seat. He missed the 32,000 point question (so did I!) His questions seemed harder.

I won some point pins, a baseball cap, a polo shirt and a pin lanyard. It was fun, but kind of scary also.

My 11-year-old made it to the hotseat. He missed the $64,000 question. It was about a character in a comic strip which our local paper does not carry. He used the "ask a stranger" lifeline, but the stranger was not familiar w/ the comic strip either, and couldn't help. It was thrilling seeing my son in the hotseat-it was one of the highlights of our trip!

I am such an idiot - I have read about WWTBAM on these boards but I still missed it on our last trip! I'm not sure I would want to be in the hotseat, my brain seems to leave me in times of trouble. But I think my DH would enjoy it a lot - he loves that stuff.

CONGRATUALTIONS to anyone who has made it to the hotseat - that can't be easy!

I was one of those people who groaned when the contestant would use lifelines on stupid questions. But I did it as well. The timer really plays with your mind.

Question I missed-

A person who is Bucolic most likely lives where? A- City, B- Suburbs, C- Countryside, D- Jungle.

I guessed A. It's C.

I won a hat, shirt, lanyard, and all the pins. None of which I will ever wear.

To add insult to injury, Im heading back in 3 weeks and will be ineligible to play again (must wait 30 days).

someone asked where the phone was - its right outside of the WWTBM building. In Dec we were on our way to the backlot tour and stopped for a group bathroom break. A few of us were just sitting on a bench and heard a phone start ringing - my DH started yelling - answer the phone! so my niece and I ran over (they wouldn't let her answer as she was to young) but they asked me a question (I was so nervous) and I got it right and got the I was a complete stranger pin! It happened to be my birthday and was a highlight of the trip!

:scared: :scared:

I'll cry for you, but don't look for too much sympathy for being in the hot seat. ;)

Hot seat contestants get three lifelines. Audience contestants get none! Hot seat contestants get 15-45 seconds to answer the question. Audience members have to answer instantly! (If they are trying to get to the top of leader board.)

Both DW and I have been #1 at the end of the session, but we haven't been in the hot seat. But then we only go once a year, and play about 3 times.

I'm a WWTBAM loser too, but you can bet that I'll never forget what the capital of Paraguay is for as long as I live. I used the 50/50 and asked the audience but it didn't help.

It was still a really cool experience - the highlight of our last trip, and I did win a hat, lanyard and pins.

That's funny...I've been there 2 times and I will also never forget the answer to each question I missed.

BTW: For 64k, Ornothology is the study of BIRDS. (Seems easy now but the lights made me brain dead.) :smooth:
