Has anyone done the Cruzin' Disney's California Adventure® Park Tour at Disneyland?

I have gone a bit Segway crazy :dance3: I have booked the Epcot World Showcase Segway tour and the Fort Wilderness one (on the offroad segway) for our next trip in a couple months but it is partly because they seem to be the best tours. (there are no other tours of World Showcase and no others of DCA :confused3)

I and a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of DCA. I loved it from the first time I went in and am actually disappointed they are removing some of the California aspects:sad1: like Golden Dreams.

But I digress.
So has anyone done this segway tour? Is it a good look at DCA? How much time is spent doing the "training" on the segway? (I should be a pro by the time I get to DL so hopefully not too long :lmao:)

I saw on the website there are various discounts (including the AAA) which we have but there isn't one for DVC. Does anyone know if this is going to change now there are the VGC? (the WDW tours have a DVC discount)

Ok...I think that is enough questions:woohoo::woohoo:

:thanks:

DH and I are doing the tour on the 20th of this month. I am surprising him with it and can't wait! :goodvibes I am sure others will chime in that have taken the tour, but I can report back on it when I return.

We did the tour in August and it was REALLY fun! First you have snacks/drinks in a lounge area while the CM's explain the rules, process, a bit of history, etc. to you. Then you spend a fair amount of time training, but it's fun. I'd ridden a Segway before, so it didn't seem necessary, but they make it part of the adventure with obstacle courses, etc. It didn't seem overly long to me.

The tour itself is really great and you get to see the park in such a relaxing and different way. Lots of trivia, interesting history, and it's SO FUN to be in an empty park! You even get to do a tiny backstage part (between Flik's FunFair and Tower of Terror)

We saved 15% on our tickets because we have a Disney VISA card.

Since you are a Ca Adventure fan, I'd definitely go for it! :thumbsup2

Where did they take you for your "free time"? When I did it two years ago we were in Paradise Pier between the Fun Wheel and California Screamin', but with all the construction I was wondering if that was different now. I preferred it over the Epcot tour because we got a lot more area to roam around in than they gave us at Epcot.

I wondered if it would be different with the construction now too, I was so bummed to hear that the lagoon probably won't be filled until October now.

I did this tour with the Dis Diva group earlier this year. It was a lot of fun! My favorite part was going through the Redwood Challenge Trail area on the segways. I could have just stayed in there the whole time.

I don't remember having any "free time". There was a potty break down by Pizza Om Mow Mow and the old McDonald's.

I would definitely do this tour again, especially after the DCA refurb is complete. Segwaying through Cars Land would be fun!

We had free time at the end to just go up and down Hollywood Blvd. THAT was fun, because there were people waiting behind the rope to get in, and we could Segway right up to them and back. I felt very "privileged"!!!! :lmao:

We just did the tour on Monday. Got there at 7:15, like PP said, they take you into guest relations for muffins and juice and to share some info for about 15 minutes. Then you go out by Muppet 3D for your training session. We had never ridden before but I think we caught on fairly quickly. We had 2 groups of 5 for the training and once we looked like we were not going to kill ourselves our cast member just let us play around the area. The training part was around 45 minutes. We took a little 5 minute break and then went around the park for 45 minutes. Took a group picture and they had us off those things and back on the other side of the the rope at 9:45 for the opening.

Even my jaded husband really enjoyed this tour. I can't wait to do the one in Epcot in January!

Nice! And it is pretty cool you are still then back in time for opening! Interesting...

Thanks so much for the helpful information folks!!! Another tour added to the list :goodvibes:

Tour booking is 30 days in advance right?
