Great a few days before we leave a all heck breaks loose again. So far our community has suffered through a tornado, severe microburst, earthquake, and now a huge snow fall which downed more tree then the tornado did. Power out everywhere.......can't wait to go back home to the BWV and leave this mess behind for a while.

I know, mother nature has been mean here in MD too! We are going 'home' to OKW in Dec and I cannot wait!!! I hope you get to the World without incident. Also, I hope the weather is perfect in Fl for you. DH was watching college football last night and there were several games being playing on messy snow stormy fields and then there were the Carolina and FL games that were sun shiney nice. :confused3 So not fair!

Yeah. Can you believe this amount of snow this early in the year? For us here in PA, it's definitely a record storm. Not sure about up in MA.

I know...can't wait to get out of Dodge next week myself. Onward to sunny, warmer weather!!

Once again, our personal apartment was blessed -- we have power in comparison to 800,000 customers of CL&P here in CT. And the company estimates people may not get power back for a week. Looking forward to FL on Friday instead of the 20 degree temps tonight. The foot of snow at Bradley was definitely a record breaker!

We have no power and no phone and we're being told to expect everything to be out until Wednesday! :scared1: Thank goodness we have a generator so we can watch a few minutes of TV and get online for a bit to see what's happening in the outside world!

I hope you make it to WDW Brownie and have a wonderful time. After everything you've been through this year weather-wise, you deserve a break!

LisaS stay warm! :santa: (we need a smilie with earmuffs!)

Oh, no, Lisa! So sorry to hear that you are one of the victims in this weather mess. I am sending good wishes your way that the power restoration moves along more quickly than predicted. Being without electric is the pits. Does your heating system require electric for the fan?

I just heard that we have a snow day tomorrow in a lot of Massachusetts and New Hampshire school systems  Never had a snow day in October before :rolleyes1

Still with out power......and getting mighty cold in the house. Looking forward to the escape!

We've got power and phone now. Woo hoo! Brownie I hope your services are restored quickly so you don't have to worry about a thing while you're away at WDW. Forecast for WDW for the next few days: high 70s/low 80s, partly to mostly sunny, breezy, pleasant. Sounds perfect!

It's been a crazy year weather wise. I heard 70% of CT was without power. Wow. After Irene and a week without power then, I'm betting generators are flying out of the stores in our south western most New England state.

My family thinks I'm crazy for counting down the years until I can leave MA (when my youngest graduates)... snow, ice, ick and yuck are exactly why I'm out of here. I'm done.

If someone could arrange to tow MA, or ... I won't be selfish ... how about all of the northeast, tow it south and dock it just off the coast of Florida for the winter I'd be fine with it. ;)

Hurray, Lisa! Nothing like a power outage to make you really appreciate electricity.

Yikes down here at BWV and DD lives in MA and said she hear on news we got 30" where we live in NH..... oh well we are not back home til next week hope it melts by then.
Hope everyone else stays warm, use those fireplaces and get power back soon. and DD kids had school cancelled...they had school closed for Irene this Aug too...so already 3 days of no school, they had no power then for 4 days, this time at least only 1.

I hope you all are keeping warm. And good luck getting the power on where's out. The weather has been horrible all over the place.

We are still in extreme drought here in southeast Texas. My holly shrubs are all dying despite regular watering. They are telling us the drought will continue into the winter. I guess I need to replace them with more drought resistant plants.
