Crumbl cookie vs Gideon's

Give me a warm Mrs. Fields chocolate chip and I’m happy.

I went to Crumbl a few months ago. They were having trouble with one of their ovens and only had two offerings: a sugar cookie with Sour Patch kids which looked awful and some other chocolate thing. I cannot remember but that's what I got. It wasn't bad for sure, but I didn't feel like I was eating a cookie. It just seemed like something else--kind of like a dense cake. I haven't been jazzed enough to go back but maybe I need to try something else.
This. Every time we’ve gotten a cookie from our local Crumbl location it has been ’meh.’ They all taste like a sugar cookie/dense cake with the toppings changed. Never had Gideon’s, but looking forward to trying them on our next visit.

Because I have only gone once before and had limited choice, I ventured out this past weekend to the new Crumbl location that opened and I got myself 6 cookies to split between me, my husband, and some visitors we had. I've decided I just don't care for these cookies. The pumpkin spice with the swirl of cream cheese frosting was the best. It was okay that it was cakey for that type of cookie. I liked that the cookie was a very "spicey" pumpkin. I then got chocolate chip, peanut butter monster and two different types of sugar cookie. They were all sweets which makes them enjoyable on that factor alone, but overall I just don't care for the texture and mealiness of them. When I want a cookie, I want a cookie. Chewy, some crunch on the outside. I surely hope that Gideon's isn't like Crumbl.

Gideons defintiely have a different texture. Theirs are more doughy, but not too soft. They do not have that graininsee that Curmbl cookies have, which I agree is a reason that I don't like them.

$32 for a dozen cookies??

:faint:

This isn't unusual. My son owns a home based cookie business and he charges $3 per cookie. They are hand decorated sugar cookies. He also makes GIANT chocolate chip cookies (5oz each) and charges $2.50 for them. He can't really charge much less and still make a profit. The ingredients to make these cookies are pricey and it's quite a time commitment.

Way too sweet and the middle never seems to be fully baked. Never tried Gideon. Not standing in line for a cookie. I actually prefer the Nestle pull apart you bake at home.

I've never had Gideons :worried:, maybe I'll make it there some day. I have had Crumbl cookies for the first time over the summer. I had a piece of the sherbert cookie and the sugar cookie. OMG they were sooooo good. I've also had a cookie from Insomnia but that was a long time ago. I do remember I liked it, but don't remember if I was wowed by it.

$4 for a cookie when I can get this for $2.xx? For the record, those cream filled donuts will overlap the palm and fingers of your hand, imagine holding that cinnamon roll :D

I decided to give Crumbl another try as I was driving by today. I bought two - a Reese’s Peanut Butter for my son (I will give it to him later) and a Dulce LeLeche for me. The caramel and the little bit of frosting on the cookie were delicious, but I think the cookie itself is tasteless. They look good and I want to like them, but they just don’t deliver in my opinion.

this has been my experience. The cookie part of the cookie is just meh. Yesterday I had a pecan cookie from Crumbl and it was the best one I've had from there. There was quite a bit of pecan "nougat" over a very nice sugar cookie. I'd get that again, but I'm not too keen on the rest.
