My mother in law and I are going to take my son / her grandson on his first DCL cruise in October, looking on suggestions for which type of stateroom to book on the Fantasy, since we will all be sharing the same space and would prefer to not sleep together (I might be ok sleeping with DS if bed was large enough as he is a thrasher).

Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

The cabins that sleep 3 have a queen bed and a foldout couch (twin bed). When you click on each link there are pictures you can scroll throuch and see the beds folded out.

If you book one that sleep 4 the catagories will be the same but it will have a queen bed, a fold out couch (Twin bed) and a bunk bed (twin) that folds out of the wall.
If you book one that sleep 5 it will have a queen, the couch, the bunk and a twin Murphy bed.

Because you only have 3 in your party if you want a cabin that has the extra beds make sure the one you book sleeps 4 or 5.

To get 3 separate befa, do you have any idea which is more comfortable for sleeping. The MIL will end up with the queen, DS won't care, I'm curious what will be best for me...foldout or Murphy? Thanks so much for the informative post!!

Here's a picture of a 5 person room with all the beds open:

The sofa bed (not a typical pull-out sofa, but the back folds down over the seat), the bunk bed, and the Murphy bed are all twin-sized beds. All have the same type mattress and bedding.

I found the Murphy bed incredible hard and uncomfortable. Even after they put the egg crate foam on it it was bad. We just had two in our room and mom takes the queen bed so I moved back to the sofa bed.

So I would say my personal thoughts on order of comfort are:
Queen bed
Sofa bed
Murphy bed

(I've never tried the bunk as I'm a pooh sized adult and just wouldn't be comfortable).
