Cruising with an infant...

I'm glad to see that eveyone had fun with their kids. My son 3 didn't want to go to the club but we had fun with him dancing at the kids disco and letting him be a kid . H still talks about his cruise and how he dance with the Princess, saw all of his disney friends and meet new friends. He keeps asking when are we going back? Try to explain to a 3 yr old that next Nov. we're going back.

My opinion is that we are in "baby jail" no matter where we are so we might as well be in "baby jail" on a cruise where atleast we can get a break from the cooking, cleaning and the normal day to day stuff.

Well said!!!

Now that I think of it, that's probably the reason we had less than a spectacular cruise with our 1yo, but wanted to sign up for another.

I may think differently after our cruise but right now..it's what's getting me through the day to day stuff right now!! (We will be cruising with our then 8yo, 6yo, 2 1/2 year old and 15month old) July can't get here quick enough!! I know there will be things we can't do because of the little ones ages(like dinner lol) but we can't do that at home either!! Just this last summer we chased our then 1 1/2 year old through every casino in Vegas but we still manged to have a good time. I think it is all about the attiiude you go in with! Have fun. Amy :flower1:

Amy-
Which West Coast cruise are you on? We are on July 23rd and traveling with a 5yo, 2 1/2yo, and almost 2yo. I wonder if we are on the same cruise?

We just got back from a 4 day cruise with 5 kids. dd11,ds9, g/b twins7, and
ds9 months. We all had a blast! DS9 and the twins7 where all in the clubs together and never wanted to leave! We left the baby at flounders when we went on the Dolphin encounter in nassua. They labled all his things for me because I forgot to do that and they were great with him! He got fussy apparently after he woke up from his nap but they said they took him for a walk and he seemed to settle down.
We brought him to all the shows with us and some he loved and watched but others he just fell asleep. Loud noises do not bother him thought because he has 4 brothers and sisters so he is use to it being loud! :rotfl:
We brought our stroller and used it all the time! We had late seating for dinner and we would just let him sleep in the stroller at the table.
I say go for it but be prepared for everything! We did have to take him to the Dr. while on board( he started to run a high fever) I had my ear thermometor with me and tylenol but still wanted him to get looked at. They were very nice and even called the next day to check on him.
Have a great time! We did and rebooked for Dec.9, 2006

We're taking DD5 and DS 7 mo on a trip to Disney and DCL next month. I can't wait! DD5 will be fine (besides the heat). As long as DS is fed, he should be fine too. I'm getting a little concerned because lately he only wants to sleep in his crib and won't sleep in his swing or car seat like he used to. Hopefully the Disney sun and fun will wear him out and he'll sleep wherever.

We're on the July 2 cruise. Too bad we're not on the same days so we could say hi to each other,as we pass, while we chase our little one from one end of the ship to the other. :moped: (Do they rent these on board?? :earboy2: ) I'll be sure to post about our experience with the babies and Flounders so you will know what to expect. Thank you so much and enjoy your cruise!

I saw allot of babies on our 5/5 ship. You just have to take things easy with the baby. I have a 2 year old. He had a great time.

I would bring an 11 month old.

Buddy Bear....you forgot to mention that the reason Sarah was always SMILING was that she met her first best friend on that trip......LOL!!! We were on the same cruise, and my daughter was also 6 months. Sarah and Emilie are one day apart in age. I have the best pictures of her on that trip. The CM's all loved her. Emilie didn't love Flounders, but I had no set expecta-tions, so that was okay. I spent a lot more time just hanging out, than I had on other cruises, but that was okay too. Things are just different with a baby, on the cruise or off. We are going on the 14 day cruise in August. It will be a different cruise than it would have been without a baby, but that's okay too. If you are flexible, you can have fun!!!!

JW: You got that right! Emilie and Sarah are cruisin' buddies. We are looking forward to seeing in Aug 2006.

Funny thing...I was just looking at this photo along with all the others from that cruise.

We can't wait to get back on the ship for Catherine's 13th Birthday.

We are going on our 3rd disney cruise in July with an infant. Before it was with a 3 yr old, then a 4 yr old, now it will be with a 5 yr old AND a 5 MONTH old. We are little nervous about our son being only 5 months old but plan to use Flounders and reserved room with a balcony since I may be in the cabin a lot with naps and feeding, etc. Hope it goes well. I plan to use Flounders as much as they will allow me and the rest of the time we'll just go with the flow. DD loves the kids clubs and also loves playing with Mommy and Daddy.

We took our almost-3 year old and had a blast (and this was even while we were dodging Hurricane Jeanne -- we ended up in Mexico instead of the Bahamas).

The thing that's nice is Disney is so set up for kids, and everyone has one or more. If you have a flexible attitude, you should have a great time.

DH did say he thought the verandah was a real life saver, though....We got plenty of ocean time without having to leave the room. And we brought a portable DVD player, too, for days at sea.

DS still drags out the DVD on a regular basis so he can see the boat.
