Sometime this week I am FINALLY getting my own scooter! :woohoo:

Then, in about 2 weeks, we are going on a Disney cruise. This is my first cruise with a scooter (I was much healthier on our two other cruises). I'm an okay driver, but I'm not great. I once knocked over a large display of Hostess cupcakes.

So, really, what I need is reassurance--and maybe some driving tips?

Congraatulations.

1. Remember to bring the charger with you!

2. At most of the ports the gangway is very steep. If possible, walk and have a person who is standing drive it up and down the gangway and not be seated.

3. Depending on where you are going, you may not find much accessibility in the ports.

4. If wandering around the ship alone you may have problems opening the doors to and from the open decks, they are heavy. I can reach forward to grab a door that opens out, hold the door handle and with the other hand carefully go in reverse to open the door until it can swing clear, then hold the door when I drive through coordinaiton (or an assistant) is a great help.

Be sure to fit your scooter with some kind of backpack or armrest bag so you can slip those cruise photos into something where they won't get bent...a front basket just doesn't cut it especially on windy decks or rainy ports of call. I found a book bag was a useful shape....sort of thin and:banana: flat.
