We will be cruising next year with our then 18 month old DD. We currently have two cruises booked, 1 7 day and the 14 day FL-CA repositioning cruise. I just started thinking today about how many diapers I will need to pack for the 7 day cruise and then panicked when I thought of how many would be needed for our 14 day cruise.

Does anyone know if any of the stores on board sell packs of diapers and if so, how much do they run?

Please help!

from what I have heard they are very expensive & they might not have the size you need. I am assuming you are going to fly in. I suggest arranging ground transportation that will do a grocery stop to pick up the jumbo size package when you land. If you have a car, there is a Walmart not too far from the airport & one not far from the port (I think that Walmart sends a van out for the crews to come shop)

We just got off the May1st 7 night and our son is just 20 months old. I worried about the same thing. I don't think we even went through an entire package of diapers. They don't need to be changed near as much as when they are younger. I think I planned for 4 diapers per day but on ly used approx. 3. We are doing the 14 night too and my goal is potty- trained by then. He will turn 3 on the ship. So I'm hoping.....He has been on 3 cruises and he is not even 2. Took me 34 years to go on my first. :D

You are allowed 2 suitcases each and his clothes won't take up much room so you could pack an extra small one for him with just diapers!

oooops. I just noticed you said daughter. "HER" suitcase.....sorry

Pack with diapers ..... return with lots of stuff bought on the trip!!

They do have diapers but they are expensive and very limited in what they have. I think they were like $1/diaper.

I like ksumom's idea...pack the diapers, return with lots of souvenirs.

I had two in diapers on our 7 day cruise but I don't remember how many we used but I also had plenty!!

I'll have the same issue, except with a 6 month old on the reposition. I think I'm going to go to Sam's club and get diapers in the cardboard case, then use packing tape to make a handle on the box so it can be labeled and carried like a suitcase. If DCL prices are anything like what I had to pay stranded in an airport once, I know I don't want to buy them on ship! Not to mention- when I had to buy them in the airport they were awful no name diapers that seemed to have 1/16 of an inch of padding at best.

My hubby and I had a similar conversation the other day. Our DS will almost 2 when we will be on the 14 day FL to CA.
We are going to Orlando a day early anyway so we decided to do a rental car and stop by a store or maybe even Costco (although, that might be a bit more diapers than we need). I also really like the idea of packing it all in a suitcase then filling that space with souvenirs. ;)

Its a Year from today!!!!:)

Thanks everybody for all the great suggestions! We too will be flying in the day before the cruise, so I think I will try to get to a store once there to buy additional diapers. If that doesn't work out, I might enlist the help of Shirley from A Perfect Gift. Since I was going to have a gift basket made up for each the kids anyway, I 'll ask if she can include a pack of the correct size diapers in my young DD. That would sure be a sight!!!

Happy Cruising to all!

I can't imagine only bringing 3 diapers a day for a 20 month old. I know that wouldn't last me past lunch time. I'm going to pack a suitcase full of diapers and wipes and I know I won't have a hard time refilling it with souvineers. That was a great idea-Thanks

Join us over in the cruise meet thread and we can figure it out. There are a good number of us who are driving or being driven from the port in Florida. You could send us stuff ahead and we can figure out how to get it all on board.

I have not done it myself, but I've heard of people using www.netgrocer.com for Disney trips. They order their snacks, diapers, etc. and have them delivered to their Disney hotel. When they arrive, they ask for their package. Could you have diapers delivered to your night-before hotel?

We went to Europe in March with a 17 month old and 3 1/2 year old for 2 weeks. The older one had a child size suitcase--the younger one we gave her an adult size suitcase and packed probably about 5-7 diapers per day in addition to wipes (about 2 refill packs worth) and her clothes.

At the end of the trip we were able to consolidate bags--but had lots of diapers left. And plenty of room for souvenirs!

I say pack them and it is one less thing to stress about once you are here in Florida.
