Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

Wow Scotland!! That's so awesome! What's the tour itinerary? I had the good fortune to go to the UK for 2 weeks for work, including a weekend in edinburgh. It was gorgeous and I hope to return to do more sightseeing.

Your October 6th sounds nice, good to have a relaxing day built in there!

We fly into Glasgow for 1 night, make our way to Loch Ness & stay in Iverness for a night, and then go to Edinburgh for the remainder. I know nothing about Scotland other than they drink whiskey and there's a monster in Loch Ness. I'm looking forward to it but I'm a little nervous about flying overseas by myself!

We loved T-Rex Cafe, too! I think the food is soooo much better than the RFC! Any idea why the parks are supposed to be so crowded that day?! Regardless, a relaxed day will be nice after a night of birthday festivities!

I think they're supposed to be crowded because it's Columbus Day weekend. Last year we left that same Saturday but had enough time to go to MK in the morning & it was a madhouse! So I'm fine with avoiding the parks that day!

I just flew southwest tonight!

Our flight only had 60 people on it so no problems getting a seat anywhere you wanted!

On the way to CO it was a little different.. I checked in at 24 hours and ended up with a B14 seat. When I boarded there were a bunch of places that had 2 seats together. Unfortunately the plane was overbooked so all seats were taken in the end but as long as you check in 24 hours in advance you should be fine!

How exciting to be able to have a FREE trip to Scotland! Hopefully they approve it!

I owe my hubby a Europe trip but I have no idea how to begin planning it!

I think we're going to use the early bird check-in. Rather be safe than sorry ;) It's not a big deal if we don't get seats together but we'd prefer it.

The trip was approved. I'm excited but a little nervous!

I forgot to post this yesterday but 7 months til Disney World!

You'll have to do a little tr for the Scotland trip. When will you know you're definitely going?

Well, I had to give them my CC number to charge for the airfare portion of the trip. I submitted it to be reimbursed by our accounting department and I got the check Tuesday so I'm assuming it's definite! :)

I'm going to Scotland! :woohoo:

WOO!!!! :dance3:

I'm planning a solo trip to Europe hopefully next summer!!! My mom is from Glasgow! :)

I have friends in London, near Glasgow and in Ireland (I forget the name of the place) who have all amazingly offered me a bed or a couch so I can come for a visit. So no hotel costs!!! YAY!

Just make sure you take lot's of pictures when you go!

Will do!

Scotland!! How fun!! I've been 2 London twice, but thats it. My oldest DS soccer development coach is from Scotland...I love his accent!!

When I worked for AA, they always offered FAM trips for the Intl agents. My best friend worked in Intl reservations and got to go to S. Africa on one of the FAM trips.

Cant wait to see some pics!

I've only been to BB, never been to TL. BB was super fun! Summit Plummet was awesome!!

T Rex is one of our hopeful ADRs for our Dec trip.

Hey!! It's been a while! lol I hope you are doing great!! It looks like you have a lot of trips to you keep you busy until October!! You'll have a great time, I'm sure!!!

I've always wanted to go to Scotland; I'll want to hear all about it!
I hope you are having a great weekend; hopefully I won't dissapear for as long as I did this time! hahaha

Wow! What an amazing opportunity!

Also, I wanted to let you know that I just signed up for SW rapid rewards, and they have this dining program where you get points at certain restaurants. It isn't much, but it could give you a few more points before you trip...and depending on how many miles you have, you could end up earning enough points for a second trip! You can also get points for shopping at online retailers through the SW site, etc. Similar to MyPoints, but specifically for SW.

I met a couple on a Disney cruise back in 2009 and the husband was from Glasgow. I understood everything he said so I'm taking that as a good sign. :rotfl: I love being able to go on FAM trips. They're such great opportunities!

I can't believe I can make my ADRs in less than a month! :goodvibes

I saw that on the SW website. I was thinking of signing up for it just to get the bonus points. I also got an email from them to sign up for E-Rewards. It's a survey site (another one!) and I get bonus points after taking my first survey. Plus I can trade in the credits I get for taking surveys for RR points. I'm doing everything I can for points!

Hi everybody!

It's Monday and that means a daily plans update!

Day 8 - 10/7/12

Our last full day in Disney. :( I'm sad just thinking about it.

First things first, we have to switch rooms. I'll probably take care of that when we wake up. We were originally booked 9/30-10/7 in a value studio room and then added a night on back in January. Well, they were out of value rooms by then so we had to book a standard for one night. I hope we only have to move across the hall! After that's taken care of, the day really begins...

Touringplans is predicting the crowd levels to be high this day but not as bad as Saturday so we're going to brave the parks. We'll be heading to Epcot! It's listed as a 'best park.' We'll probably do anything we missed on Epcot Day 1 (which is also Epcot's 30th birthday! thanks Meghan!) and spend a lot of time in World Showcase for the Food & Wine Festival. I'm planning on making an ADR at Chefs de France for dinner. This is another restaurant I don't think Kris is too excited about. Hopefully he can find something he likes. I told him not to get up to go to the bathroom or anything because he might come back and find a plate of escargot waiting for him. :rotfl: If we didn't see Illuminations on the first Epcot day, we'll stay to see it tonight.

Since it's our last day, I want to make the most of it. So after we're done with Epcot, I want to head over to MK - it's predicted to be open until 2 AM! I always like to start and end the trip with a visit to MK. I'm hoping they'll have a late MSEP. I've never seen it and would really like to!

We'll stay as late as we can and then it's back to AKL for our last night in that beautiful hotel. :sad1:

208 days to go!

That is awesome news about the Scotland trip! I am way jealous!! Have a blast!

I can't believe that October is 7 months away... it has gone so quickly (though it still feels far far off!)

I can't wait to have official park hours!

I know! I've been MIA for too long! I miss reading your PTR!!! I hope all is well! Life has been hectic lately! Ben and I recently moved to our new apartment in a bigger city!! We love it so far!! With that, work, and all of the doctor's appointments I have been going to this year; I just haven't had the time to update my PTR or comment on you guys'!! BUT I am going to update my PTR either tonight or tomorrow, so look for that!:goodvibes

You'll have to do a mini-TR for your Scotland trip! It would be so awesome hearing about your adventures!

I didn't know that that date was Epcot's bday!! That's exciting! I love Epcot, I'm sure Ben and I will spend plenty of time there for our trip!

I looove to begin and end our trips with MK! That's what we did for our honeymoon, and I'm sure it's what we'll do this trip as well! I just couldn't imagine not doing that! It's pure magic!

I hope they have EMH that late when we are there!! I would love to stay at MK that long!!:) (If I can stay awake!! lol )

Can't wait to read more!

That is so awesome about your upcoming trip to Scotland. That is definitely on our bucket list of places to go to one day. I will be another anxiously awaiting your update on that trip.

It definitely sounds cool to be in Epcot on it's birthday. You can toast the park while drinking your way around the world. hehe. I love the MSEP. I remember seeing it when I was 12 and being so amazed at the sights and sounds. Your trip will be here before you know it.

Joining in, came over from the October 2012 thread. Now I just have to go back and read all 29 pages. popcorn::

That stinks about having to move rooms on your last night. We have had to do that on several trips (at Wyndham resorts) and it's always a pain in the butt! Maybe they will sprinkle a little pixie dust pixiedust: and let you stay in the same room! We have had a couple times where we were booked on a reservation with a room change and were told on check-in that they could combine the reservations for us so we didn't have to move.

I'm going to ask them about it when we check-in. I'm going to use the birthday & travel agent card to see if I can sweet talk them into an upgrade too. :rolleyes1 But I'll settle for not having to switch rooms!

Welcome! My PTR has become quite long. :rotfl: That's what happens when you start in July!

I'm excited to go to Scotland! It's going to be a completely different experience from what I'm used to.

I like the idea of toasting Epcot while drinking around the World. Sounds like a plan to me :thumbsup2

Congrats on your move! That's exciting :)

I plan on doing a mini-TR for the Scotland trip. When I come back it'll be the end of April. Only 5 months to go from there! :rotfl:

MK is my favorie park for PM EMH. I love walking around that park late at night, especially Tomorrowland. It's so magical!

The October park hours should be out soon! :goodvibes

I know! I can't believe it's March already. It's unreal. Our trips are going to be here before we know it.

The hours should be published on the TA website by next week. Fingers crossed!

I just Paypal-ed Lynn the rest of the money for our room! It's not due until August but I wanted to pay it asap. Otherwise I'd be spending it on Rangers tickets. :rolleyes1 FIRST IN THE NHL! :cheer2:

Ahem.

So what's left to pay?

5 Day Base Ticket - AAA employee price $249
Disney Dining Plan - $51.54 x 8 nights = $412.32
Total remaining in Disney trip account - $168.06
Disney GC total - $97.50
Balance Remaining - $395.76
:woohoo:

My goal is to get my ticket next. I have less than $100 to go before I can buy it. I get two free 2 day PH & WP&M passes from Disney for being a TA so with those we'll technically have a 7 day ticket.

I plan to use the Disney GCs toward the DDP.

My Disney Fund is a separate account that I want to use for my spending money. So far that is up to $753.70.

I hate putting stuff on credit cards if I don't have to so I'm trying to pay everything off in cash. So far, so good!! :)
