Cruising towards 10 days of fun... a July/Nov 2012- & We're BACK!!! Pg.50-51

I do remember,(it was a wonderful chance meeting, and it's heartbreaking to hear of her passing). I will say a prayer for the family.

Hey everyone.....

My DIS time has been non-existant over the last few weeks and I know I have to respond to many of you but I'm writing today to ask for prayers. If you remember when we were on Juliana's Make-A-Wish trip, we met a TSA agent in the airport on the way home. His name was Rick and his daughter, Erin, had the same cancer that Juliana had, but Erin's cancer was spreading. Rick saw how healthy Juliana looked and his hope for Erin was revived and his faith was renewed that someday Erin would be cancer free. Well that day came yesterday when Erin earned her wings and was called back to Him. She was 8 years old. Please keep Erin, Rick, mom Kelly, and sister Leah in your prayers. They have all been fighting for so long. Give all your kids a big hug today.

Tim

Hi Tim!

Something was "pulling" me here and I am so very sad to hear of this terrible news. I absolutely do remember you meeting this TSA agent and your hope for his daughter. How tragic and heart breaking. I'm sending prayers to the family and all the kids out there fighting cancer! :littleangel: In general people do take health for granted and you're so right - hug your kids tighter and never take a moment for granted! Hugs! :lovestruc

Oh Tim,

My prayers for Erin's family during this difficult time. Lifting them all up.

Of course you'll do an update while I'm gone. Don't you always? I think last time I was gonee you started a PTR or something.
You should be proud of me... I didn't update just for you! :rotfl:

I think I've only done one update since you were gone. I was a little busy last weekend....I had visitors--the kids (I was going to post a picture from their visit, but photobucket is giving me fits).
Are you kidding me? I am so far behind on here there is no way I can catch up. :headache:

****Okay, I was able to download the photos on my work computer, but not home! Here are just two (I don't want to bore you or hijack your thread completely):
Really? When have you ever not hi-jacked my thread?

Very nice!

We were practicing the "carry over the threshold"

LOL... Markie doesn't look too happy here. :rotfl2:

Are you going to just stand idly by and let Kathy hijack your thread like that?!?!? :lmao:
Hey Jen! I guess I did. Don't worry, I'll get her back!

Hope you had a great Easter trip to Florida!
We did! Then we came home and all were sick, but more about that later. :coffee:

hope you had a fun trip and lots of sun in FL! hope to see some of YOUR photos here soon!
I posted everything on FB... I guess I should throw a few up here too.

BTW - started our HI cruise TR...piggybacked onto my other TR's:thumbsup2
I will try to get over there... really I will. ::yes::

Thanks for posting this Jen! I did peek at this post and checked out the hours when you posted. ;)

Playing catch up around here!!! :) :coffee:
Hey Pat! I haven't even gotten that far yet. :rolleyes1

Thank you all for keeping Erin's family in your prayers. I haven't heard any updates since last week and I cannot even imagine what they are going through.

I don't know about you Tim, but my plans have changed ALOT in the last week :rolleyes1

Trip updates

July Cruise

Well we are less than 75 days away from our cruise. I tried to do the online check in when I got home from work on Saturday night but for some reason it wasn't allowing me to. When I woke up on Sunday morning I was able to check in and our port arrival time is 11:30-12. Not too bad. I was hoping for the 11:00 arrival but I don't think the 30 minutes will make too much of a difference (I hope!) I plan on being there around 10:30 anyway, so hopefully we can get on the ship early.

I didn't book Palo because we want to spend time with Juliana. She has been so good transitioning from being the 'one' to now having to share the spotlight with her little brother. That reminds me, we took Christopher off the reservation, so it will be the 3 of us on the cruise. Juliana still doesn't have a clue about it. I think we will just tell her we are going to see a show in NYC and stay the night in the city. That should explain why we are packing bags. :rotfl:

November Trip

Believe it or not our ADR window opens this Saturday. While that is exciting it has been a little stressful. I've been co-ordinating with our friends to try to finalize the plans. It seem like no one has an opinion and are like whatever so I'm just going to fill in a few gaps with my own ADRs. If they don't like them then they can just make their own. But I do think we are on the same page for most of the ADRs.

There is a slight possibility that another friend of mine (and his wife and DD) could be joining us for a few days. I wish they would make a decision so we can get them on our ADRs.

Another item of stress has been the releasing of the MVMCP days. Disney has told TAs that the first party won't be till Friday Nov. 9th. That will be a minor headache because that party is going to be PACKED. Not only is it a weekend night but that weekend is marathon weekend. The dates are final yet but this is making planning our ADRs a tad stressful too. Touring Plans still thinks when the dates are released that MVMCP with be on Tues & Wed as well. We are going to believe them and plan on going to the party on Wednesday. I hope they are right.

Speaking of the Nov. marathon, I'm thinking of running in the 5K on Saturday the 10th. It starts at 7am so it shouldn't really interfere with whatever we plan on doing on Saturday.

Here are our tentative plans as of today:

Friday Nov. 2
We Arrive

Saturday Nov. 3
We plan on spending the morning/early afternoon at Give Kids The World
Other friends heading to some park morning/early afternoon
Dinner- 'Ohana

Monday Nov. 5
Magic Kingdom
BBB, Pirate's League
Possibly Cinderella's Royal Table Lunch?

Tuesday Nov. 6
Touring plans has this day as a 1/10 meaning it should be very slow in the parks. I know that we want to have a day off but it might be worth heading to the parks for the am for a little while? Maybe Melody or I will take Juliana to a park for a few hours. We can also play mini-golf, goto the Boardwalk, take the boat to DTD.

Dinner- Possibly Cape May if we don't do it on Sunday or something in DTD?

Wednesday Nov. 7
MVMCP (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) Park entry @4pm. (Possibly if the party is even on this night)
This might be a good morning for breakfast at Kona?
Maybe hang at the pool late morning/ early afternoon before the party

Thursday Nov.8
Epcot
Possible ADRs

Via Napoli (D)
Food and Wine festival is going on so we might not even need a reservation for food if we snack around the World Showcase

DHS at night to see the Osbourn Lights

We Leave

Your plans look really good Tim. I imagine it's pretty difficult while waiting for people to make a decision.

I'd recommend Boma or Sanaa for dinner on your Animal Kingdom day. ::yes::

Tim, it is inching ever closer! Looks like your plans have really come together!

Sorry haven't been around that much lately, but have been keeping up either here or on FB! Even though I hadn't posted I saw your update about little Erin! Plus some other dear DIS friends made sure I didn't miss it, which I always appreciate! I have had the whole family in my thoughts and prayers! Such a tragic thing to lose a child! I can only imagine the pain and hurt they are and will continue to be going through!

Hey Glen!
I have wanted to eat at Boma for a while but I'm not sure how the others feel about that. I will bring it up to the committee (Melody) and see what she thinks. ;)

Hey Marv. Thanks for stopping in. My DIS time has been very limited and I haven't been keeping up with anybody. I hope all is well with you and the fam!

When you heading back to WDW?

Does Disney give you the Port Arrival time or is it something you chose?
When I did the online check-in I had the option to choose times. They were 30 minute time slots up till 3:30. I wanted 11 but it was grayed out.. guess it was all taken up. I can live with 11:30. I can't wait to get on that ship!!! :hyper::hyper:

What's this Melbourne Florida in your signature??? Did you move? Did I miss something? (I probably did... LOL)

Hello! So sorry to hear about Erin. I saw it on FB, but didn't have a second to comment there. I have to say that I get a bit choked up whenever I see kids with GKTW or MAW buttons on when I'm in Florida.

Your plans look great! I'm sure Juliana is going to love her cruise!. As much as I'm a proponent of quality adult-time, I think I'd have skipped Palo, too.

Your fall trip plans look like they're coming together. :thumbsup2 I am learning that trip planning with non-Dis folks can be trying, as they often don't understand why we make our plans so far in advance, but you seem to have the right attitude about it.

With a day with a crowd level of 1, I'd be super tempted to go to the parks, but you know I enjoy going for partial days, so...

I got 2 selfish suggestions for you....MNSSHP on the 2nd.....and Cape May dinner on the 9th.....Just saying. :rotfl2:

I do have Epcot in the evening on the 8th too. DHS closes at 4 that day and it has a low crowd number, so we might go over there for a bit and then head to Epcot. If not, it will be swimming then Epcot.
I'm gonna try for Arkershus that night.

great plans! love you idea of how to through Juliana off for the cruise! can't wait to see her face when she relizes she's going on the ship!!!

good luck getting your ADR's planned out with your friends....just give them your idea's and that you need to have a definate answer by Sat!
then make what works best for you all!
definately choose to eat around the world at the F & W, so yummy and you will get filled up!

Interesting. We didn't have that on Celebrity or Carnival. I wonder if it's a Disney-only thing :confused3

We did! We moved at the beginning of April. It took me two weeks to get my new license and get a FL resident AP...I'm actually proud of myself that it took that long

I started a blog (link in my signature) since I'm not going to be planning trips, it will give me a chance to share my Disney-obsession :rolleyes1 We are planning a long weekend for our Anniversary that falls over Food & Wine...but I won't do a PTR every time I decide to go up for the day :lmao:
