Cruising The Canal May 1, 2015 (Roll Call in Post 1)

I know there are a bunch of people that want to get together to play... can't let that one slip between the cracks!

Yes! Let's come up with 2 game times and we can make more from there. Lemme look at the itinerary again & think on it. Anyone else who wants to throw a day/time out there, bring it!

I would think Diversions. Not sure about time. We need to get that figured out, though. I know my 17 & 19 yros are totally into it. My inlaws maybe. Hubby & I definitely. We need to get a fun, willing to "go there" bunch to make it rock. For those who might not know, it's s very grown-up twisted fun card game. Kinda like Mad Libs for adults. Can get pretty down-n-dirty. My sons showed us the game over New Years when we had a group of older teens in the house. Boy, was that FUN!

I think Diversions is unlikely to be the most suitable place for this game since it is really not suitable for children. I hate to sound like a prude (and I'm really not because I do think it's a great game and a lot of fun) but, since Diversions is a family lounge, I wouldn't like to think that families or children would be upset by anything they might overhear. Erin is right, though, we had already discussed in the FB group getting together to play this game but I do think it ought to be in one of the adult-only areas so as not to risk upsetting any other passengers.

ETA: Just realised that Diversions is adult only after 9pm. In which case, Diversions would be the ideal place after 9. Probably doesn't matter what night. I would actually suggest, since there were a few people that wanted to play board and card games, that we set a time each night and people can turn up if they fancy playing something.

Yeah, what areas are truly adults-only before 9 at night? Ya know? I thought of Diversions because when we were in there for a football game in the late afternoon on an at-sea day on the Wonder in October I don't recall seeing any kids. But I know there's that possibility.

Thanks muchly! :)

The cove pool, the cove cafe, one outlook, and palo are the only no one under 18 at all. Of I think the spa but in 14 cruises I have never been in there so I could not say for sure.

Pretty sure I saw kids occasionally passing thru Cove Cafe & Outlook when I was on the Wonder for 10 days last fall. I know they aren't supposed to be there but if an adult conversation was going on it could've definitely been heard in passing. That's what I meant by "truly adults-only". I don't think poolside, Palo, or the spa are applicable as none of these spaces are really suitable to an adult card game. ;)

Well passing through I think is fine as long as they are not hanging out. Now they can't get by the door in palo. Still the cove area is the best bet.

Would you think at night?

I would think you want to be looking at times after the late dining will have finished. There shouldn't be many (any) kids wandering through Cove Cafe then. Although i still think Diversions is probably the best bet, since that is intended for playing games anyway.

Now that I think about it, we did a whiskey and a cognac tasting at 10:00 at night in both sides of the upper level Cove/Outlook. I don't recall any planned activities in Diversions in the later evenings. ;)

on the Wonder they have that upstairs area of the Cove Cafe (forget what it's called) that's enclosed so since it's upstairs, there SHOULD be no reason for kidlets to be there. (They'd have to go out of their way to go up the stairs to get there to "pass through" LOL)

Yep. Saw at least 2 or 3 pass thru with parents. I guess the parents got a coffee, walked up, then thru. Not sure.

I'd say that if parents are actually bringing their children upstairs in the adults only area, they are responsible for what their children might hear. It might dissuade them from future visits up there!

That was what I was thinking but you never know what's gonna twist people's drawers. On the other hand, I think of my grandparents. In my grandfather's presence all was right & proper for my grandmother. No swearing or dirtiness. If he was out of the house Gramma was no holds barred! It was cute.

I agree with the poster about if ther parents bring them then oh well. It's adults only. So if you are playing a game that contains adult content and the parents are upset, to bad. Don't bring the kids to a adults only area. When it come it the point of passing thru remover we are on a ship and there are only so many ways to get from A to B. Passing thru is fine. Stoping to enjoy the view and talk to people, not so fine.

For the hair care products provided on board, does DCL offer items that can handle combination oily/dry hair and skin? I remember they were the H20+ brand (i.e. Are the H20+ products able to handle oily scalp and dandruff and dry frizzy hair)?
