Cruising The Canal May 1, 2015 (Roll Call in Post 1)

PIF today! Looking at a few excursions. DH likes the ATV and jeep ones and I like the lay on the beach ones, so we will probably do two of each given that there are only 4 ports.

This trip is to celebrate our 25th anniversary, and to relax. So, don't really have any other plans. I think we will just go with the flow

Happy New Year to all. Well today is the platinum booking date. I got the palo dinner I wanted when we are supposed to have that nasty taste of CA menu and the brunch we wanted the day before we get to Columbia.

Hi all! We are booked on the May 1 Canal cruise and this will be our 4th DC.
I am completely new to the boards. I registered on the boards before our last cruise but it was so intimidating, I didn't do anything.

So now since this is such a long cruise we want to join in on the FE and I want to book a room through the Doubletree group rate. Unfortunately because I have not posted on the board before, I cannot PM anyone until I have posted 10 times.

I am trying to figure out how to follow the threads and even post stuff. So any of your help on how to manage the boards is appreciated.

Brixton, since I can't PM you, maybe you can PM me and I can respond about the rooms.

Also I noticed there was a roll call at the beginning of the thread. Not sure if we should be added to that or not. Everything is so new and weird.

Very excited for our cruise though! My birthday falls right after we depart, so I am excited to be celebrating my birthday on board!

Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and FE discussions right here on the DIS as they have since FE began (also here on the DIS).

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

It seems that the person reportedly managing a FE for this cruise has not posted in this thread for about 6 weeks now. If someone else would like to organize a FE right here in this thread, feel free to do so.

Welcome to the cruise and thread sissy1971 and disneydoerkson!

We are under 100 days for when we leave (yes we're heading to Florida early, as my DH is retiring as of April 16.) and we are both getting very antsy to get on with this cruise. Especially since winter in all it's snowiness is hitting us smack dab in the face and bringing sub 0 temps this week. Dreaming of the cruise is going to be a full time committment LOL.
