Cruising The Canal May 1, 2015 (Roll Call in Post 1)

Hi All, :wave2:

We just booked this cruise (upgraded from b2b out of San Diego) and are sooo excited!!

We have two rooms for my DH, myself, our twin DDs (9), and a family friend. Deck 2, main dining. This will be Disney cruise #5 (Mexico, Alaska, Bahamas (2)) for us and we are excited to finally be Gold! :)

Also worried about school for my girls and crossing my fingers the teachers will help us with providing assignments.

I requested to be added to Facebook and would love to be part of the FE as well. :)

Yay! I don't have twin dds, but mine are nine months apart & will be 10 & 11 next May. What a great group of girls on this trip:)

Looks like a great group!

This one will one of the best cruises....we were really lucky last time, got paired with our wonderful tablemates and we will sit with them again. Thank you Shelby to link our dinning!

As for port excursions....we had some great ones last time, mostly for our kiddos and I think we will repeat them. Specially ziplining adventure at Las Caletas in Puerto Vallarta.

Las Caletas is a must! I HATE that I can't go on any excursions due to latex allergy. We're going to copy you & send M & girls to Las Americas. We are counting the days 'til we meet again! You absolutely made our trip amazing in 2013!

Booked this morning. Well moved a dummy cruise to this cruise anyway. I am 99% sure we will keep it as it appears I can use miles to pay for one of the airline tickets so that will help a great deal.

Got the same stateroom as our Alaska trip!

We are Andrea and Joe from Mount Laurel, NJ. (outside Philly). We will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary (although belated, because I messed up those reservations for August 2014, real anniversary date, and did not get the dog sitter before he booked up) and Andrea's birthday on board

Looking forward to catching up on the 19 pages of posts. I did also request being added to the Facebook page!

Looks like there are a lot of seasoned cruisers but happy to answer questions as well. We have been on 8 cruises with Disney, we have been on all 4 ships. Does a 2 week cruise count as 2 cruises??? I wish! We are slowly getting to Platinum status!

I lived in Philly & environs for six years. Back then, Philly was not exactly safe...but it was a ton of fun! I agree with whomever suggested Southwest. We fly from PVD to FLL, to save $, them fly Jet Blue from LGB to BOS to save even more $. We are far from. Platinum, but WELCOME to the cruise:banana:

I haven't logged on here for about a month, so :welcome: to everyone who's joined us since I last dropped by!We also have twin DDs who are nine :goodvibes. Our girls will be ten when we sail. And it will also be our fifth DCL (Mexico x2, EBTA, Med). And I'm worried about the girls' school as well and just hoping it all works out well.

We did the EBTA and the first Med last year and the airfare was brutal. It was more than both cruise fares. Granted, the TA is cheap, but still, it was a lot. Doing the EBTA and airfare ends up costing more for us than doing the WBPC and airfare even though the cruise fare is significantly more expensive on the PC than on the TA.

Yay! More girls on this trip! You must have twins? I don't worry about pulling them from school, other than having to pay their school fees whilst onboard, because they're learning so much more than they would at school;) Our dream cruise was the NYC/Iceland/Denmark/Norway - but it's simply too pricey with airfare. Welcome:cool2:

As an elementary Montessori teacher, I'll make an activity book for grades 1-5. Someone did this last year, and it was a great success! What we did last year - calculating speed, nautical miles, charting, map reading, writing, and cultural study for each country in which we stopped - worked very well for the girls' teachers and we felt less guilt :teacher:

Also, for those bringing AG dolls and their CAN counterparts...I'd like to contribute a girl/doll scavenger hunt to the FE/AG list. If it hasn't already been taken?

:thumbsup2 Sounds great! Our daughter has been in the Montessori system for 8 years now (starting at the age of 3) and we absolutely love it.

For our Arabia cruise in February her teacher gave her a ton of questions to answer, some of them really difficult, and, let's say, we all learned a lot ;).

I posted earlier about doing some off boat excursion booking. Including a food based one in Cartagena that sounded interesting.

If you are interested in being kept up to date on (and helping look for) some fun excursions, please email me corey<at>mhrunners<dot>com

It's going to be my wife (36 at time of sailing), my daughter (7 at time of sailing) and me (38 at time of sailing). So if you have a kiddo at that age, could make our excursion(s) easier, or harder I suppose, but probably easier.

When booking lodging in unfamiliar areas I find that Trip Advisor to be a great source of information. They rank the places based of actual reviews of people who have stayed and give pricing from several web site sources. For me, safety and comfort beats a low price.

Hi all

Just booked this cruise - was surprised to see not only a thread started but so much activity. I can see this is going to be a really fun cruise. My DH and I will be cruising, we have many cruises under our belt but this will only be our 2nd disney cruise

We would be interested in joining the FE group

So excited as I had originally booked an Alaskan cruise for next July but need to change and now this one is less than a year away!

Look forward to chatting with everyone

Hello! We just booked this cruise today. We were planning on doing the East Panama Canal thinking it would be in early October but since it is so late we decided to do this one. We have sailed Disney before but this will be the first 14 day one and we all are excited. :) It will by myself (Jessica), husband (Kellon), DD (Kaiden age 6) and DS (Kiellon who will turn 5 during the cruise).

We want to join the FE so I will look up the Facebook page. :)

Welcome!!!! Good thing you changed your mind because I don't see the EBPC sailing for october. The Wonder is staying in the west coast for a little bit and Galveston during the holidays.

Ok kind of random. But I was just browsing through a FE thread. Some people included gifts for Children's AMERICAN GIRL DOLLS. I know that my girls will be bringing theirs. Anyone else planning on letting their girls bring their AG Doll along? Like I said, random, but I would LOVE to include AG Doll gifts in FE gift exchange if enough people are bringing theirs :)

Our DD 6 will be bringing her AG doll also. I have been busy starting to make their matching outfits and we would love to give doll gifts in the FE. :)
