Cruising on the Disney Magic April 25th 2014 / FE

Well all of my FE goodies are DONE We live in NC my husband will be driving down 4/20 with the kids. I'm going to fly down to West Palm on that Wed and meet up with family.We haven't gone to Disney in a while and I fine with that. We use to live in Ftlauderdale and go to Disney all the time.

For all of the first time DCL family's you won't be disappointed . This will be R 6th disney cruise. FYI if you come down day before there r hotels that you can leave your car park tHey will suttle you to the port. Alot cheaper then paying to park your car at the port.

So I found these Navigators on-line from a Jan 2014 Magic 3 day cruise. I think ours will be similar and my hubby and I have used them to help us plan a bit. I'm going to post links to them in case you guys would like to use them. Obviously, I have no idea if ours will be the exact same but I'm sure it will be pretty similar.

We got our cruise docs in the mail recently also! I'm getting excited!!

I finished with our on-line check in and we will be boarding early. We live about 2 hours from the port so we want to make our vacation as long as possilbe.

Booked dinner at Palo on Friday night. It's our actual anniversary so that's pretty exciting for us. We have a 10 month old and don't live near any family so I can't remember the last time we had a nice dinner alone.

Booked a few hours of nursery time for friday night as well since we'll be at dinner. $9 an hour seems like a lot to me but it will be worth it. It looks like you're only allowed to book 10 hours total for the whole cruise. We will probably drop my son off for a couple hours on Nassau day since we stay on the ship. We like to use the rainforest room and relax a bit while everyone else is out playing.

We are at the first seating. I hope we are paired with another family with an infant. I noticed a couple of families on here have little ones. I wish we could sit together!!

1. you have all your FE gifts done. I haven't even started mine. So crazy hard with an infant.

2. You are on your 6th cruise which makes you a GOLD castaway member. We want gold so badly. One more cruise for us. We are hoping to book another one while we're on board.

I'm just wrapping up FE gifts for the little girls on our cruise… I can't believe how long homemade gifts can take. But I guess thats the part that makes it so much fun… Giving a little piece of yourself to someone

It appears there are 14 families and 53 total people doing FE so far. I'm putting together some idea for gifts, but many of them are small trinkets or too large to bring in those numbers (50+).

Just so I know how others are doing this, I'd like to ask a few questions to everyone...
1) Will you be giving a pack to each family?
2) Will you be giving an individual item to each person?
3) Is it wrong if I only give gifts to all the kids, or only some of the families?

I know this last question is tough to answer. I'm not sure i'm going to have enough space to bring enough goodies for everyone. Although i'm not really sure since i'm still putting things together.

To me the FE is for fun and shouldn't be stressful. I personally don't care if we only get 1 thing for the whole room. I haven't starting planning my gifts yet. I may end up doing 1 gift for the adults in the room and then something for all the kids. I really need to sit down and look at the list. I've never been disappointed when doing the FE with any of the gifts I've received. To me it's more about adding a little magic to someone else's vacation! And it's fun to come back to a special little surprise when returning to your stateroom.

Also, I would consider bringing a small bag for you FE goodies to bring them home. We always end up with more than we anticipate which is okay for us because we live in FL so we just toss them in the car but it would be hard to pack them and fly home without extra storage.

You'll want to check your Navigator, which is the daily cruise itinerary you get in your stateroom, for the castaway cay day. It's usually first thing in the morning.

I checked the Jan Navigator that I posted and it was at 8:15 and for ages 12+. So probably the same for our crusie.

I am doing one small thing for each person. We are driving so we have the room, but I have flown and had to really squish the suitcase shut. So I keep that in mind. It is the thought that counts, even if it is just for the kids. I agree it is just the nice little added touch to make the cruise a little more fun! Don't stress (although I am just starting mine ) it is all just supposed to be fun!

I'm coming all the way from South Africa so I understand about the baggage space that's why I chose to make small things for everyone. But I'm happy with what I've made this far. will post it in the homemade fe thread when we are done.
Think it would be great to give moms and kids. Moms cuz they are the special ones we are communicating with and kids cuz that's where the magic is but it doesn't have to be stressful. It's really up to you
I think a combined gift for mom and dad would make things so much easier I may just do that
