I'm thinking about a DCL trip in March 2007. I know you can combine using points and paying dollars, but would like a little information about how it works. We will be two adults and two children. Is there a strategy for combining points & money to get the best use of your points?

I'm not interested in renting my points - too much hassle. I don't mind using my points for other than the resorts, but don't want to waste them if combining them would be a good idea. Also, I'm not sure I will have quite enough to book what I want. Any help would be appreciated.

You can book the stateroom using points for at least the first adult in the room. DVC has a pre-arranged pricing system with DCL for cash prices for the remaining passengers in that room. It is not a "deal" compared with other cash prices for cruises, but it is a fair enough price. You can enjoy booking close to your cruise date with this advantage too. All cash folks are subject to whatever booking tier they are at, frequently more $$ to book closer to the cruise, and best price a year or more in advance.
