We are cruising on the Fantasy next week-Western Carib. We have been having a hard time..and bad luck..with our excursions, Specifically Cozumel that disney just emailed us regarding.

Cozumel: We were all booked for Playa Mia Beach break...but I just received an email TODAY from disney that Playa Mia's kiddies water play area, The slides, ad the pools will be closed for refurbishment!!! These are the big reason we booked this excursion for our little kids!

Jamaica: We were planning on booking the beach excursion that was around $65 per person but a few days before our excursion booking day opened it disappeared and is no longer available. Disney replaced it with an all inclusive beach break thats an hour away for more than double the price $140. We booked this but when I asked if the resorts new water park would be included a Disney port excursion rep researched it and emailed me that it DOES NOT include the water park area (slides..a little lazy river and pools). Big Disappointment..theres nothing reasonably priced that little kids can do.

Grand cayman: We really wanted to do the beach and turtle farm but there is no excursion offered that does both of these. So we booked the dolphin encounter and turtle farm excursion..so far everything seems fine with that.

My kids are 4 and 6 and my niece will be 2. Can anyone recommend another beach type excursion that is safe and good for kids in cozumel?

Check once on board for the beach excursion for Grand Cayman, they should an afternoon open if it's not full. But it will depend on what time your other excursion ends. The beach was pretty nice but on our cruise last week they had high wave warnings out.

Cozumel we didn't get off the boat. We have been there several times and like to spend the day on the boat without others on board. Pretty quiet day.

And then you still get Castaway Cay for the beach.

No wonder I was able to book the Cozumel Beach Break!! (it was fully booked for a long time and I just checked today to see availability!) A lot of people must have cancelled due to the closure. We may still go ahead with it since our child is only 2 years old and won't be able to use the slides and stuff.. but that sucks for sure!

the little water park area had mini slides and a splash area for little ones..thats why we booked it. The whole little kid area will be closed AND the big kids slides AND the main pool.

If disney is going to go ahead with the excursion they need to at the very least discount it since half the park will not be available..

The cost of the transportation to and from the park remains the same, regardless if "half the park is closed". And I doubt that the entrance fees are being reduced by the park, so DCL still has to charge the same.

FYI for anyone booked with a Playa Mia Excursion ...cozumel beach break. Playa Mia's website now says the water park areas will be closed from May 8-June8

FWIW we had a 4 and almost 6 year old on the same itinerary. We booked Playa Mia, but cancelled due to a poor forecast. The weather turned out fine and my kids had TONS of fun staying on the ship that day, playing in less crowded pools, riding the Aquaduck over and over, and going to BBB. We were so happy we stayed on the ship in port!

We did do the dolphin encounter and turtle farm and my kids loved it.

Our kids are the same age...what did you end up doing in Jamaica?

Cozumel beach break without the kid area open traveling with kids your age will be a very long exercusion, especially if it is hot.

Jamaica we stayed on the ship -- such a great day Relaxing. Got off to do all the little shops at port. So glad we did not do an exercusion.

Thank you so much of this info!!! I decided to cancel the excursion and book the Grand Cayman Tiki Beach excursion instead!! (we just want to have at least one beach excursion in addition to CC) it's a lot cheaper than the Cozumel one too!! Look into it! It was also fully booked for a long time and I just saw availability today!!

I think your UNFORTUNATELY right:(, the value just isnt there anymore though..I am assuming the main reason people booked this specific excursion over any other beach club on cozumel is because of the water park area for the kids. I think they should discount it during their refurbishments..because there is no incentive to go to Playa Mia between now and June 8th ..they will offer nothing really different than Nachi,Paradise and Mr Sanchos has. If they would offer some sort of discount we might consider still going. Im not saying disney should discount it..its not their fault...playa mia should discount the excursions though

I have a client just do the Jewel resort excursion in Jamaica She raved about it-– said it was nice, new; lazy river, slides, tubes, zero entry pools.
