Cruising in March

Could anyone who has cruised to Bahamas in March tell me just how cold they were? We sailed in Jan. once and froze except for CC day. Friends sailed the week after us and had warm temps. the whole time. Was just wondering if it was "iffy" like that in March too.
Anyone else sailing March 16th??

We did the eastern cruise March 2002 and the weather was WONDERFUL. Hot, sunny, perfect for beaching it. In fact, we got too hot shopping in St. Maarten, so we went back to the ship, had lunch at Topsiders, went back to cabins, changed into suits and went to Great Bay Beach where the boat is docked for the rest of the day - LOVED IT! St. Thomas we did Magens Bay - beautiful, and Castaway was heaven. Don't worry about the weather being cool - it wasn't for us.

I agree Magen's Bay is wonderful. We were there last Sept. and are anxious to go back. Sadly, this cruise in March is only 4 nite. We won't be as far south as St. Thomas or St. Martin. I just think I'm curious about March in bahamas because of how freezing cold we were in Jan. there. We did Great Bay beach in St. Martins too. Sigh! ....now I wish we'd decided on 7 nite! LOL..

YES!!! We're on that cruise! I've had two previous posts looking for people. I've had one PM from someone and you are the second find!

Hubby and I are cruising without kids and I'm am soooooo excited (but worried too!)

I notice we're kind of coming from the same neck of the woods!
I'm still wondering if we'll be treated to anything special for St. Patty's day! Glad to see more people are starting to crop up for this trip! natt:

Wow Natt,we are "neighbors". I work at U of Del. It's great that you and your hubby are doing the cruise without kids. My DGrD doesn't know her mom, aunt and I went without her on our last trip - she is really no trouble, but it was nice to be able to book Palos without worrying she'd decide not to do kids club on the night we picked! LOL! Well, hope to see you on deck at the sail -away party. I'd forgotten all about St. Patricks day! ..... keep in touch as 3/16 gets closer.

We did our first DCL spring break cruise this past March. It was warm when we were down by St. Thomas and St. Maarten but I did not get in the water at Castaway Cay nor did my daughter or husband. We have always been their during August and it is wonderful, the water is so warm! In March we felt the water was cold. Just sitting on the beach was nice and wading was OK. Some people did get in and they said it was fine as long as they stayed in. I guess that is my only complaint on cruising during spring break time, Castaway Cay is bit cool for me. Go any way and enjoy! the plus is it is not rainy season. In August it rains every day! Kathy

We have cruised three times during spring break in March and the weather has always been wonderful -- high 70's, low 80's -- always in the pools and water. Spring break has been the end of March though. Hope this helps.

hsteacher, were you cruising carribean or bahamas? I know St. Thomas and Martin would be warm in March but bahamas is a different story. I don't know why I'm so worried.....I'll be sitting back on a cruise and not pulling my hair out here at work...any weather will be fine. lol!

Question - which did you prefer East or West carribean? Those darn Blue Hens are whats keeping me from being able to sail in Sept. - football every weekend.
