Maybe she is going for a longer cruise that you don't know about! :lmao:

Well as of next Thursday we will be on a plane! I can't believe a year ago we were planning this and it's just about here!!! Some of our suitcases have been packed since oh... 2 weeks ago!!!

Tello Gabi the only problem I see with this is that she doesn't have nearly enough shoes. I mean really, 17 full outfits and a couple of spare shirts for more than a week of vacation isn't bad, but can a girl really make it through that length of time with just 4 pairs of shoes?:lmao:

Oh I just remembered that she doesn't know about the cruise, so she thinks she's just packing for the first part of the trip. Wow, can you imagine what kind of luggage you'd need if she know about the cruise lol?

Jenni

Jenni,

YAY! Good for you!! I was wondering what you were going to do!! You won't regret it. We have breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 7:30 ... and then we will leave for the port around 9 ... get there just before 10am when they open.

Kat

I haven't checked for sure but I think the Radisson has a shuttle every hour. So we'll probably grab the 10:00 shuttle and see you guys shortly after that!

Haircut- Check
Hair colored- Check
Tan- Check
FE's- not finished
Packed- not finished!

So, is anyone worried about plane travel over the next few weeks?

We are flying from NYC ... so I'm a little concerned. I read on the main Swine Flu boards that people are flying with face masks. Well, darn, i considered that but I didn't want to look like a freak. Looks like I won't be the only freak??

Kat

That would be so cool if we spotted Miley! Thanks for sharing that link! I was looking at the picture of the day post. Over a year ago someone posted pics of The Suite Life cast when they were on a cruise to promote The Suite Life on Deck. My kids thought the pictures were amazing, wouldn't it be great if we saw a celebrity too!

Kat, my friend just flew in yesterday from a business conference in Albuquerque. She said there was one woman on the plane who wore a mask. I say if it makes you feel better, who cares what everyone thinks. Just make sure it's a good mask, one that really works on to keep out the virus. I think it's an N45 or N95 or something like that lol.

See you all real soon!

Hi, new here and I am not sure if I am even posting correctly. I have been a lurker on this board for nearly 2 years and have not joined because I am more of a reader than a talker/writer.
My family and I are supposed to be joining you all on this cruise and I just want to know...Has anyone considered postpoing or canceling due to the swine flu?
Please don't throw tomatoes:)

Hi there and welcome! :wave2: We're not really the tomato throwing types here.

My mother-in-law has been hinting that maybe we should postpone the trip. She's a nurse and has been hearing too much "get ready for the big one" propaganda lol. My DH and I think the media has made this whole thing into more than it really is. Yes I know it's serious, but you take some precautions and go on and live your life. I think it's just as likely that I will catch the flu from someone I come into contact with at work, as from someone on the cruise.

So far the only thing we have really considered is possibly driving instead of flying. But I think it's about a 20 hour drive and I'm not looking forward to that. What about everyone else?

Jenni

My husband threw out the "lets drive" card but he wasn't serious.

If you take the necessary precautions and seek medical attention immediately, you will be fine.

Welcome to our group!!

Kat

Thanks for your responses! I polled everybody at work and I even called dd's pediatrician. I guess I will be tossing this back and forth for the next 2 weeks.:confused3

Reece my husband is post liver transplant, so I do worry a little bit more about infection:scared1:

However, that being said, if everyone followed BASIC hand hygiene practices and stayed home when they were sick, I think we will all be just fine!:thumbsup2

You remember when your Mom used to say, cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze, and wash your hands?

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure imho......:rolleyes1

Oh yeah, and driving??????:rotfl2::rotfl: I think we are 1200 miles away.......

I think they are up to 107 people with it.. None in Florida but yes there are travelers on the plane that is a possibility... in all seriousness maybe we should take masks...

I am glad we are driving I think I would be a little more nervous if we were flying....but it wouldn't stop me from going. I really think the media has gone WAY over the top with it. Like everyone has said...just be cautious!

One of the guys I work with is in Mexico now on his honeymoon...luckily they have told him to take next week off as well. Just to be safe! I was very relieved to here that.

Kat....I agree with Jenni....if she packed like that just for Disney then you may be glad she doesn't know about the cruise yet. Although......she may be a little miffed when she does find out about the cruise and thinks she didn't pack enough.

I personally say though:

SHE'S MY KIND OF GIRL!!!! :rotfl:

I ALWAYS overpack!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to meet you guys!
