Would anyone recommend a cruise around mid December? Because of the "Magic" move, we will have to cruise next Dec. instead of late May 2005. These are the only times we have to go on vacation, so if we want to cruise on DCL, this is what we will do. We took our first cruise on the May 23, 2004 Wonder. Disney is wonderful. What a blast we had!

Thanks...Carol:sunny:

hi there,

We have sailed twice mid December and are doing so again this year.

The weather is great, although we are from the UK so any sunshine whatever the temperature is great for us.

We have generally had temps in the 70's although one year we couldn't dock at CC due to high tide.

Hope this helps

Rosemary

We went on the Magic - Eastern last December. The weather in St. Maarten and St. Thomas was great. Temps in the 80's, sunny and warm enough for swimming and snorkeling. I believe the same is true of the ports along the Western route.

The only place you might have cooler weather is at CC or in the Bahamas if you're on the Wonder. Cold fronts can occasionally push that far south and out to the Bahamas. When we went to CC, it was a little cool. Temps in the 70's and very windy. We went in the water a little but it was really cold. It was still sunny and a nice day so we enjoyed the island out of the water. DH played volleyball on the beach and I took the kids on a bike ride. It was also very cold when we disembarked the following day in Port Canaveral. (It was actually warmer when got home to Texas than it had been in Florida.)

I think that this is rare though, and most people who go to CC in December have warmer temps. We had a wonderful cruise and have booked another next year at the same time!

I have been in early December 3 times and only once would I say that it was too cool to go in the water at CC. I think it is the best time to go, non-hurricane season and lower than normal humidity. pirate:

We cruised Xmas week (12/20 - 12/27) this past year and weather was great. Grand Cayman was about 92, Cozumel (Xmas eve) was about 88 and Castaway Cay maybe 80 - 82.

The water At CC was definitely cool. I made the mistake of renting the snorkeling gear onboard and the girls put one toe in the water and that was it.

HOWEVER, Don't forget the Magical Xmas Spirit. The decorations are great.

I highly recommend it.

Jim

PS No Matter what the temps it will be nicer than the Mid-Atlantic Temps at the same time!
