My DH and I went on our first cruise last year with our two DD. We are doing another cruise with them again next. So the big question is will we be forgiven if we take our 3rd cruise just the two of us. Or will our DD's hate us forever.

Has anyone been put in this situation and our DD will be around 13 and 11 when and If we go solo.

Go for it!

You will have a wonderful time. I am sure the kids will not be happy about it, but you deserve some alone time after all this time.

Your fellow Disers will forgive you but your kids might not!!! LOL

I would say go for it... your kids will get over it... you and DH deserve some time alone .

I am sure that if DH and myself bring back some goodies for them that we will be safe but who knows....if they dared go without us, it would be a different story LOL.

We have been on 4 Disney cruises as a family. DD is 11 and DS is now 14. The rooms are getting tight. After our cruise last month DH and I decided to book a 3 night cruise for our anniversary this year. Although the kids are not happy about it they do understand.that mom and dad need some alone time. They also have an Oct. cruise to look forward to that we are going with other family members. We also booked them their own stateroom.

The way I look at it is this..... We(dh and I) never went on a cruise until our first one as a family. What lucky kids these are. They will have cruised 5 times in Oct.

This is also the only time we have ever gone away with out them.

Enjoy your cruise. Do not feel guilty at all!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely! After a cruise with our kids and my family, DH and I then took another cruise alone(these were both 3 days). We had the time of our lives on that trip, and it was a totally different experience without the kids.

IMO, parents needs time away from their kids, alone together, and where they choose to spend it is up to them, not the kids. I wouldnt do every trip without the kids and never take them anywhere, but it seems like your kids are getting their fair share of trips. You guys deserve one too. Go for it!

HECK YES!!!! It is good for mom and dad to get away for awhile from the kids. WHen we leave it makes us glad to get back and see the kids and it makes them glad to have us home. They LOVE the idea of staying with grandparents for a week and getting free "reign" of the house with grandparents rules which are WAY more laid back than mom and dad's rules!

As long as you are not starving the kids to pay for it and they get to go at some point as well I'd say it's great!

Go enjoy yourselves...

We have taken 10 DCL cruises (8 with the kids) so that leaves 2 cruises that just hubby and I took alone....one 7 day and one 3 day. Yes, there were pangs of guilt (did not last too long!!!) and a few times we would look at each other and say...."gee, they would really have liked this or that"....but all in all we had wonderful times and would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Go and enjoy!!!

It's forgiveable, it's wonderful AND it's romantic !:teeth:
