Cruise with no port calls, going up Norway fjords - interesting

I would love it! The sound of the ship sailing through the water. A nice, leisurely breakfast with cup after cup of good coffee. Find a quiet place to see outside or maybe a view from inside, alternating between reading my book and watching the scenery. Maybe a little nap. Clean up and dress for dinner. Go to a show next and close the night with a few cocktails in a lounge with some nice music. Get up and do that again. Ahhhhhh💕

There has been a few reports out of Europe of "closed loop" domestic" cruising". Eg: Sailing around Norway... for Norway residents... Sailing around France... for French residents and so on. Goal is that no one would fly in and these cruises would be for "locals" only, and from areas with low COVID infection rates. There has been some rumblings that Florida ports may focus at first on the "drive-in" market and this could be one of the reason why some cruise lines are quietly dropping targeted cruising offers outside of the "local" market (eg: DCL currently has no special offers for Canadians, but still has Florida and Military)

I still think that Disney’s best bet right now is the castaway cay only cruises. Perhaps they could even limit it to people who drive at first.

I've wanted to do a Northern Lights cruise with this line when my kids are older. Perhaps by the time they are, Europe will be open to American visitors again.

Generally I book a cruise for the ports, but if there was ever a no-port cruise that I would book this would probably be it. We've been to Norway twice, and sadly had to cancel the DCL Norway/Iceland cruise this summer, so right now this sounds wonderful. Too bad I'm in the US and we can't travel there. Those fjords are just breathtaking.

My wounds still haven’t completely healed from my suggestion of a portless cruises months ago. I would love a 5-10 day Disney portless cruise!

Hurtigruten started their 12-day Norway coastal cruises - roundtrip from Bergen to North Cape - on June 16. Of course, you will have to first enter Norway to sail on them. They aren't really your floating resorts - though you will find plenty of great enrichment on board. These 'cruises' also serve the coastal passenger transportation needs. Think of somewhere between Alaska/BC Ferries and a Princess cruise.

This 14-nighter is different in that it is an expedition ship and will run roundtrip from Hamburg in Germany. It's a closed-loop cruise to nowhere. Not possible in the US under the current PVSA rules. EU rules are OK, but I doubt the UK will allow one out of Dover after Brexit.

Oh this looks really interesting! My husband already wanted to go on a Huntigruten cruise and this feels pretty safe... It's really expensive though!

I showed my husband, his first reaction, this is so cool! Then I replied it was pretty expensive and showed him the exact itinerary, his response, "I'd prefer DCL anyway" I trained him wel :rotfl2: (before the first cruise he said he'd through Mickey overboard after a week)
