Hi there -

Is anyone here either having or already had a cruise wedding? We are considering it and I wanted to hear more.

THanks!

FI and I are not doing the cruise wedding nor a Disney wedding but if I could have a wedding with Disney I think the cruise would be a good idea.

I hope you find all the info you need.

I need to decide which location:

- on castaway cay

- on private deck on ship (outdoors)

- on ship in privaye lounge (indoors)

I think CC makes for the best photos - but I hate to lose precious time to have fun on CC - the private deck option would be on a (more boring) sea day

Opinions???

Hello,

My husband and I got married on Disney Cruise Lines two years ago. When we got married, the only choice they offered was Castaway Cay. Given the choice of the three options, I would definately go with Castaway Cay. You are right, you will have the most awesome picture taking opportunity on Castaway Cay. Our wedding pictures are AWESOME!!!! We purchased the large picture package where the photographer also takes you around the ship (atrium, top deck of ship) but our favorite pictures are definately from Castaway Cay.

On our wedding day, we still had time to enjoy Castaway Cay. I believe the wedding starts at 10:00 am and we were done with pictures and reception at Palos around 12:30. You will still have about four hours to play. I still remember wearing my tiara with t-shirt and shorts on Castaway Cay!!!! (We did not do any water stuff that day).

Have fun!!!!

Do you have your photos online anywhere? I would love to be able to see some photos to help me make my decision.

If it was just the two of us, I would do CC for sure. But we have two little boys and I'm afraid they will miss out on CC while we are taking pictures and stuff.

Thanks for posting - it's very helpful information!

my husband and i went on the western disney cruise in oct. and got married while we stopped at key west. it was wonderful!!!! there are tons of wedding planners and photographers in key west and you can find a huge list on the key west webpage. we hired a couple that picked us up at the ship around 1:30. they took us to ft. zachary state park to get married on the beach and then brought us back to the ship so we could change and have the rest of our day to sightsee in key west. they met us back at the ship around 6 or 7 and gave us our wedding pictures, which were wonderful. they shipped my bouquet home for me since i couldn't take it back on the ship and back off due to immigrations. we then got dressed up again in our wedding attire on mon. night (which is a formal night) just to get our picture taken with mickey and minnie in his tux and her white gown which was really cool. we did rent my husbands tux for the ship, but disney doesn't coordinate anything for you. they did let us go to the front of the line for pics since i asked if we could come down at a certain time and our waiter brought us a nice "wedding cake" that he said his friend the chef put together for us. i don't think we missed out by not waiting to get married at castaway cay and we saved a ton of money doing it in key west. i would totally recommend something like we did. it was great!!!! and we had the rest of the week to honeymoon since we got married on the first full day of the cruise.
good luck, kristi
