Cruise, Vegas or ???

I think I have it narrowed down to either a cruise, Vegas..........or maybe an all inclusive.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Cruise.......it's something neither of us have done! Would probably be only 3 or 4 days....However, I'm a little leary of being on a boat & water.......but Celebrity has one that goes to the Bahamas that you are stopped during the day and only sail at night. I might like that......... But is Feb going to be warm there?

Vegas........I like the idea of having a grand hotel room for not alot of $$$. It is our 20th so I would like to feel semi spoiled. LOL! Tim McGraw & Faith Hill have a show on Valentines Day & that could be romantic........HOWEVER......NOT BUDGET!!! HAHA We arent real big drinkers or gamblers & I do not want to shop......so maybe not a good choice?

Or should I wait and apply for a passport and go to an all inclusive in Mexico perhaps in March? I love the crystal clear water, and the thought of having everything paid for!

Sell me on something! I need to make my decision quickly...........February is right around the corner.

why does it have to be February? check out budget travel .com,last minute cruises .com etc etc lots of places running specials right now....don't go to vegas if it doesn't appeal, a cruise is nice if you like that kind of thing (I don't) why not pick places you want to go, then find discounts?

My mom is doing a 4-day Celebrity cruise to the Bahamas in January (I think) with 40+ ladies from her subdivision. Sounds like a blast. But I wouldn't be able to swim in the Bahamas in February. Water will be chilly.

My vote would be for an all inclusive in Mexico. But Vegas doesn't appeal to me at all.

Our anniversary is in February! I know doesnt mean we have to go then, but I would like too!

I would do an adults only all inclusive unless you can take the cruise without flying to your port city. If you've never done a cruise before that would be nice. But if you have to pay for flights and could do an all inclusive for longer than a short cruise that is what I would recommend. We did an all inclusive for our honeymoon almost ten years ago and it was so nice to be there relaxing with EVERYTHING already paid for.

I vote Vegas and I am not a gambler at all..nice shows, good food, spa, nice rooms..we love to go and it is not a "Vegas" vacation for many but it is for us. We have done the Bahamas and it is fun but we were cold in March and that made it less fun.

Out of your choices I would put Vegas as last. Vegas is a great time but I just don't find it to be a true vacation, it is all action. I also live on the west coast so Vegas is basically a drunken weekend where you come home worn out. I did my 1st cruise last year and came home very relaxed but I'm thinking an all inclusive might be even better. I think the biggest thing I loved about the cruise was that you didn't carry money, if you want something you get it (except alcohol). I'm guessing an all inclusive resort would even be a step up from that. Vegas is cheap on paper but you will be very busy going to your wallet during your stay!

Have to agree that Vegas would be my last choice. If you don't golf or gamble, there's not a lot to do (side trip to see the dam?) during the day. It can get real old very fast. Don't let anyone tell you Vegas is family-friendly, because it isn't--if your DH goes out for a walk on the strip on his own, he will be accosted by--uh--at least one "talent agent" KWIM?

Really depends on what your are into. We had a blast on our trips. No golfing and very little gambling.

We did a combo lake mead/Hoover dam tour. We did the helicopter over the city at night tour, murder mystery dinner, el dorado atv canyon tour and dinner. My mom saw a comedian while we went to the murder mystery dinner, game works was fun we ate, played pool and hung out. Lots to do! We also like to tour the hotels and have done the gondola ride at the Venetian and the roller coaster at New York New York. Dh did the top of the stratosphere rides but I was too chicken.

Aside from Circus Circus I would have to agree that the strip area is not very family friendly. There was a push to advertise that way for a while but it was really just marketing.

I think those could all be fun but you have to go with what you like best about vacations. I love being near beaches and water so if I plonk myself within arms reach of a beach or pool with some shade, I'm pretty well good to go.

I would choose a cruise but again, I love being on the water and the movement of the ship.

I enjoy Vegas but it's not relaxing IMO and I don't care fore being around sloppy drunks.

All inclusive a are just not my thing, lots of people love them so ymmv


I think you should decide what experience you want to have with your vacation then choose the location

I've done all three and would vote for either Bahamas - Atlantis?- or Vegas. So much to do in Vegas - but it really won't be warm there. Pools may not be open, so if that's important, you might want to nix that idea. Daily avg high temp in Bahamas is 78 - sounds perfect. We stayed at The Cove at Atlantis - expensive, but sometimes you can find deals. We did the Mexican all inclusive. It was fun, but I worried so much about the food because I didn't want to get sick. We were in Cancun. Beautiful beaches. Happy Anniversary - have a wonderful trip wherever you go.

I'm not sure how long those take but it seems it is about 4-6 weeks so you need to get that if you want to fly into another country. You don't need a passport to cruise if you leave and return to the same US city.

Vegas holds no interest to us, too big, too loud, and too many people. We did an AI in Cancun a few years back and it was fun. I have friends that go to a Jamaican AI every year and love it. To me, if you drink a lot or think you may want to drink a lot, going to an AI is the way to go. For our money we have found that cruising is the best bang for our buck. The Bahamas is our least favorite stop and we usually stay on the ship but that is nice because it is the only time you can get in the ship's pool and slides (if there are slides on the ship) without the masses.

I'm not sure how long those take but it seems it is about 4-6 weeks so you need to get that if you want to fly into another country. You don't need a passport to cruise if you leave and return to the same US city.

Third this. LOVE Vegas, don't drink or gamble, very relaxing to just walk, see the shows and sights. So much to see and do and much is reasonably priced. We aren't what you would think of as a Vegas vacation either, but we love it.

We got a FAB rate at Caesars Palace - $299.00 for the 3 nights total in a King room! (We have stayed at Paris, Bally's and Rio) We loved CP!

We are not big gamblers or drinkers at all! We just love the sights, visiting all the Casinos, the restaurants, and the shows!

My DH used his rewards points from his credit card (he has a business CC and he travels allot so this points add up).

Also I don't think (while it was crowded) Christmas is as huge there in Vegas as other times of the year like NYE! Wow, the shows and the performers that will be there this week is amazing!

I would choose a cruise but not to the Bahamas. I would do the Western itinerary. We did the Bahamas and there isn't too much to do there. We like Roatan, if you can find one going there. So much to do there.

Try Bookit.com- they have some cool travel options that show package prices leaving from your city. You can also search by just a general "all inclusive" leaving from your city with a vague or specific range of dates. I don't know if they do cruises. They usually have pretty good vegas deals too.

DH and I did an adults only all inclusive for our honeymoon 7 years ago. It was amazing- very carefree and just, easy. I also liked that the room was much nicer than the cruise ships we looked at.
