I'd like some help with trying to decide what to do about our transfers to the ship - PLEASE !!

We will be arriving in Orlando five days before our cruise and staying near USF. At the moment we have return transfers booked with the DCL coach - from the Airport to the Ship & vice a versa, which means we would have to make our own way back to the airport. After our cruise we will be going to WDW for 12 nights.

Do you think I should just book a TOWNCAR company to take us directly to the ship from our USF accommodation - or make our way to the airport and leave from there on the DCL coach ? Would our children ( 9 & 11 ) enjoy the coach trip more ?

Renting a car and driving there is out of the Question - as we are Aussies and "we" drive on the wrong side of the road - I'd hate to get into an accident on the way to the ship.

Any comments are very much appreciated to help me make up my mind !!
Thank You.............Kanga

Hi Kanga. Welcome to the Dis.

After our cruise we will be going to WDW for 12 nights.

My recommendation would be to hire one of the towncar services. You can request MCO to USF, USF to port, port to WDW and WDW to MCO.

You might want to stay at USF for four of the five days. The morning of day 5 you could use the towncar service to go to The Radisson. Drop off your luggage and spend the day at The Kennedy Space Center. Stop in at The Perfect Gift on your way back to The Radisson. (Say hi to Shirley & Norm). Then you'll be nearby the port on the morning of the cruise. Take the shuttle over to the ship and be one of the first families to board. Immediately check out the shrimp situation and make sure Rae & Verandah Man have left enough for your sailing...

BD, didn't you hear, Rae is on a shrimp eating strike until Fidelio returns full time, back on the Magic.

Kanga,

Welcome to the DIS. We've taken the coach and it is nice, but not something I think the family would be missing out on if you didn't take it.

I love Buckaroo's Dad's suggestion of spending a day near the port and going to Kennedy Space Center. It is a great place to visit. The next morning you just get on the shuttle from the Radisson and over to the ship you go. You can be one of the first ones to check in. stake out a place in line and while one member holds the spot (take turns) explore the beautiful port facility and see the ship outside. All this before the busses start arriving.
