Cruise to Venice

Has Disney ever done a cruise to Venice or out of Venice? Is there any possibility of them going in 2019? For 2018 they aren't going there. I'm just wondering if they ever have in the past or if there were talks about going in the future.

That looks like a great cruise. I guess since they haven't done it since 2014 the chances they do in 2019 isn't very good.

DCL has previously visited Venice as an overnight port on a 12 night Med in 2013.

They also did cruise round trip out of Venice in 2014 for their first Greece and Turkey cruises

Unfortunately these were suspended in 2015 due to regional safety concerns.

We did a 12-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Venice in 2014. We actually pulled into Venice the day before the cruise ended and had a night in port, so that there were Port Adventures offered that day. The only issue with this was, that the night before we pulled into Venice was treated as the last night for show and dining purpose, leaving the true last night as kind of a let down, with many people not returning to the ship that night or departing outright that day. The PAs offered in Venice were a wide variety, and we did had a tour of St Peters Basilica, Doge's Palace, the Grand Canal, and Piazza San Marco. Following our cruise, they ran several 7-night cruises out of Venice, and finished with an 12-night back to Barcelona.

We did the 12 night back to Barcelona - it was great. Don't know they would go back to Turkey until things are more stable.

Those cruises sound so fun! I'm surprised they don't still sail there since the ship is small and there are still smaller cruises sailing out of Venice

The chances of going there are probably about as good as DCL going to Hawaii again. We can only hope that the three new ships will offer more options from Venice and Hawaii and beyond...

Cruise ship overrun Venice during the day. There have been attempts to restrict cruise ships in Venice, but it is a political battle.

The best time to be in Venice is after the cruise ship leaves port.
