Hey everyone.

My fiance and I are doing a Disney cruise and then staying at a Disney hotel and doing Disney World for our honeymoon next year.
We are renting a car and driving down and dropping the car off before the cruise.
Since we are going to be staying at a Disney resort after the cruise, do they by any chance provide transportation to the hotels after the cruise?
Or would we have to go rent another car for the day to drive from there to Orlando?

You can book transport back to your resort on the DCL shuttle bus...run by Mears. It isn't free though. It should be something like $35 pp one way. Check and see what your car would cost if you kept it the entire time and paid to park at the port. Sometimes it is pretty even. I like being able to get off the ship, walk to my car and be on my way first thing..hate waiting around for any type of shuttle at the ship.
You also should check and see what it would cost to head back to the car rental office and rent a car just for the day..to get to WDW. Might be cheap enough to make it worthwhile.

I would not suggest renting a car and leaving it at the port because you will pay a daily rental fee for a car that is just sitting plus there is a fee to park at the port.
I would rent a car with either Budget, Avis, drop it off at the Port rental location. From there the car rental agency will shuttle you for free to the ship. WHen the cruise is over take the rental car shuttle back and rent another car.

I had one rental that, when I priced it out various ways, was cheaper to leave it parked at port vs returning and then rerenting after the cruise. Now, granted, it was just that one time, but it did happen. So now I check every which way to see what is going to be the cheapest.
Our last trip (in April) it was about $60 more expensive to park at port vs returning the car and then rerenting one. But we really didn't want to get off the ship, take the Budget shuttle back to their office (not far from the ship to be honest) and then wait to rerent a car and then drive back past the ship to get to WDW. It would have taken about an hour total to do that. We just got off the ship, lugged our bags across the street to the parking garage and drove away.
